Essay On Respiratory Therapist
Respiratory therapy. A career that not only requires an understanding of how the heart and lungs function but, has to know the disorder and treatment associated within them. This take a special someone who is dedicated to this field of study and to every patient they may come in contact with. The responsibility of this job comes with many challenges, the therapist are under high amounts of stress when providing their skills in intensive care situations. This job can also be very rewarding; when a patient who had been in intensive care unit is discharged, the therapist is rewarded with the idea that they had a part in the patient now going home. Throughout my experiences which have built personal skills, I look forward to benefiting my society as a respiratory therapist. Through serving my community as a member of the Kingsport Lifesaving Crew, I have had the ability to learn about myself. The skills I have acquired over the last four years as an active member have bettered me as a person. The unknown situations of emergency calls require quick actions and to be able to collective help individuals with their health and wellbeing is the most important thing. As a volunteer agency, we work in close proximity with surrounding emergency service personnel therefore, communication is …show more content…

    Nosocomial pneumonia is acquired during a hospital stay. It happens when a patient is admitted into the hospital with a medical diagnosis that they are hoping to be treated for and contract the infection of pneumonia through the spread of germs. “Nosocomial pneumonia (NP) clinically presents more than seven days after hospitalization with new fever, pulmonary infiltrates, and leukocytosis. CAP is usually acquired via inhalation or aspiration of pulmonary pathogenic organisms into a lung segment or lobe” (Medscape, 2015).
