Nursing homes are where families send their elderly, trusting that they will be taken care of. The elderly are not always capable of taking care of themselves. Weather it is remembering to take pills, to forgetting how to do basic things. The nurses in the nursing homes are supposed to help them and take very good care of them. In most nursing homes the nurses are mistreating the elderly by not being gentle with them, not paying attention to them and giving them what they need, and not keeping them and their environment clean. Elderly people are not as strong as others that are still in the middle years, they need to be dealt with a little more gently and nicely than someone who is still in their 20’s. This is even more of a serious thing for elderly people. They have more sickness and their bodies are not wanting to work as well as they did. So they have to take different antibiotics for different things. Sometimes those antibiotics are life or death pills. So it is very important that they are taken on time every day. Maybe they do remember to give them their medicine but do not read the directions well. They might not shake it if it calls to be shaken, or give them food with the pills, or just plain giving them the wrong pill because they are in a hurry. They could be overdosing, or giving the medication to the wrong person.
