Energy Plan
Energy Resource Plan

It is important for everyone to do their part to conserve energy. Our resources, such as water, natural gas, oil, coal and the water species are limited. We have to save some for the future. Another reason is that some of these resources pollute the environment. We have to be careful since it causes damage to the environment. There are two types of energy, nonrenewable and renewable energy. Nonrenewable energy is an energy source that we use that can not be replenished in a short amount of time. An example of this energy source is coal. Renewable energy is an energy source that can be recreated in a short amount of time. Solar energy is an example of renewable energy, because I is taken from the heat rays of the sun. Each person can help conserve energy by walking, riding a bike or carpooling instead of individually driving to help control the pollution to our environment. We can recycle paper, plastic and glass. By doing this we are helping protect some of the trees that are being cut down to make paper. Plastic can be used to make other things and conserve some of the oil that is used to make them. Glass containers can be reused or recycled to make more glass containers. We also reduce consumption of energy resource by turning of lights, fans or televisions when they are not in use. By doing this we will also save money on our individual energy bills. The government could help conserve energy by providing more grants to individuals. Those grants would help reduce heating and energy efficiency by insulating homes properly, changing the lighting of the home and providing energy efficient water heaters and appliances. This can help conserve and reduce the energy consumption in their homes In conclusion, energy is a very important part of our lives and essential for our future. Changing the channel of the television is no harder than going for a walk, taking the bus, reusing or recycling plastics or glass.

As human beings, we need energy for just about all functions associated with the luxuries of our daily lives. We need energy to heat our homes, to fuel our cars, to watch television in addition to industrial and agricultural purposes. How often do we stop and think about where all this energy is coming from? Energy is formed and disbursed through an industrial process that is performed using a number of different sources. Although there are a number of different sources, there are only two types of energy, renewable and nonrenewable. Renewable energy sources are naturally replaced in time. Because of this factor, there is little concern with running out of these energy resources. On the other hand nonrenewable energy resources are quite the opposite. These resources have the potential to run out because they are not replaced naturally in short periods of time.…

There are many different reasons why people use energy in the many different ways that we use it. Even though people rely on energy usage, some of the forms of energy we use are very harmful to the environment and even dangerous to ourselves. The harmful and dangerous fuels that we use can be changed to alternative methods of energy usage. There are two different types of alternative energy, which is known as renewable energy. 1. CHANGE YOUR LIGHT If every household in the United State replaced one regular light bulb with one of those new compact fluorescent bulbs, the pollution reduction would be equivalent to removing one million cars from the road. Don't like the color of light? Use these bulbs for closets, laundry rooms and other places where it won't irk you as much. 2. TURN OFF COMPUTERS AT NIGHT By turning off your computer instead of leaving it in sleep mode, you can save 40 watthours per day. That adds up to 4 cents a day, or $14 per year. If you don't want to wait for your computer to start up, set it to turn on automatically a few minutes before you get to work. 3. DON'T RINSE Skip rinsing dishes before using your dishwasher and save up to 20 gallons of water each load. Plus, you're saving time and the energy used to heat the additional water. 4. DO NOT PRE-HEAT THE OVEN Unless you are making bread or pastries of some sort, don't pre-heat the oven. Just turn it on when you put the dish in. Also, when checking on your food, look through the oven window instead of opening the door. 5. RECYCLE GLASS Recycled glass reduces related air pollution by 20 percent and related water pollution by 50 percent. If it isn't recycled it can take a million years to decompose. 6. DIAPER WITH A CONSCIENCE By the time a child is toilet trained, a parent will change between 5,000 and 8,000 diapers, adding up to approximately 3.5 million tons of waste in U.S. landfills each year. Whether you choose cloth or a more environmentally-friendly disposable, you're making a choice that has a much gentler impact on our planet. 7. HANG DRY Get a clothesline or rack to dry your clothes by the air. Your wardrobe will maintain color and fit, and you'll save money. Your favorite t-shirt will last longer too. 8. GO VEGETARIAN ONCE A WEEK One less meat-based meal a week helps the planet and your diet. For example: It requires 2,500 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef. You…

Other ways to save energy and money are to think about investing in products that are specially made to support a green lifestyle. Everyone has heard of the eco friendly cars; these have better gas mileage and also put out fewer toxins into the air and decrease air pollution such as greenhouse gas emissions. You can also purchase energy efficient products for your home, such as washing machines that use less water and power or even something small like switching to CLF light bulbs. You can also buy clothes that are made of recycled materials. Many companies have chosen to use recycled products for their clothes.…

I could also save energy and money at home by making small changes around my house and help reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and also save money on my monthly energy bill. As we should know , almost half of our electricity we use goes to heating and cooling our homes. By raising your thermostat just a few degrees in the summer, and lowering it a few degrees in the winter , I would be saving money and helping the environment. Even if I replace the dirty air filter on my furnace can save 350 pounds of carbon dioxide a year. That's how I would address global warming over my lifetime.…

A non-renewable source is one that can not be replenished in a short period of time (California Energy Commission, 2006). Non-renewable sources are also known as fossil fuels. These fossil fuels are "thought to have been formed from the buried remains of plants and animals that lived millions of years ago" (Department of Environmental Protection, 2009). Fossil fuels consist of oil, natural gas, coal, and nuclear energy. According to the Energy…

There are two categories of energy: renewable and nonrenewable. Renewable energy comes from resources that are continually renewed by the earth without human help such as wind, rain, sunlight, and geothermal heat. Nonrenewable energy comes from resources that exist in limited amounts such as coal, oil and natural gas, and nuclear energy. The world mainly functions on nonrenewable energy sources because it is cheaper than trying to use renewable energy. Renewable energy sources can be cheap but only after steep initial costs for startup.…
