In Enders game Orson Scott showed many ways that influence correlated with power. The most noticeable ways where through fear, words, and weakness/vulnerabilities.
The most common why power was used to influence in enders games was through fear. Through the microsystem in battle school everyone feared ender and what he could do. This worked in ender favor because he could persuade or get influence when dealing with argent people. In Ender’s Game Orson Card made sure Ender always have the option to resort to fear, but also made Ender fear himself because Ender didn’t want to become peter. Orson Card showed that Ender was a newer and improved version of peter, because In book Orson Scott stated that one of the reasons why peter wasn’t accepted in to battle school was that he was too vicious and inconsiderate about what his actions would cause on his friends and family around him. Which persuaded Colonel Graff that if he couldn’t make Ender fear himself and what he could become if unhinged , and transform in to peter or worse .

Power and authority can bring out a person’s character. Abraham Lincoln said, “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” Anyone can fight against his or her hardships, but the way a person uses their authority shows their potential and leadership qualities. The plays Antigone by Sophocles and Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare prove this a valid quote. In the play Antigone, Creon becomes overly confident with his power, and he gains excessive pride. In Julius Caesar, after Caesar is assassinated, Mark Antony becomes oppressive, ruthless, and tyrannical.…
