Many people see coercive power as a negative power. Coercive power is having power over a person and using fear, punishment or threat to make that person do things. Most jobs have guides that tell you what could happen if you will not do, your job is that consider a coercive power. Coercive power is about what a person do not want.
Reward power
Reward power has power over a person and using what that person want or need to get them to do things. Reward power is what a person wants.
Is reward power really a positive thing or can it be negative? Could a reward be used as a punishment if you do not receive a reward?

An example of legitimate power is when you have a manager and that manager leave to work for another company that person do not have legitimate power over you but whoever replace them would. Could someone with legitimate still use reward and coercive power?
Expert power
Expert power is about what you know, what you can do, or what a person think you know/do.
Referent power
Referent power is the power you give someone over you because you respect or admire that person.
Power is power no matter if you use fear, gift, position, knowledge, or respect. Power is used to get something from someone.

I prefer the reward power to use and to receive. Rational persuasions influence me the most since it is mostly base on facts.

Reward power because I rather have a reward than the fear of losing something.

I think referent power is least effective for me because here not to many people that I
