Emmitt Smith's Football Career
Emmitt Smith is known as the record breaking Dallas Cowboy’s running back that led himself to a place in the hall of fame and his team to different spots in the Super Bowl. He is known as the man who broke the all-time rushing record and passed up Walter Peyton and Jim Brown to be known as one of the greatest men to ever see an NFL field. However, despite all his success on the field, you rarely hear about the fact that he’s almost more successful off the field. Growing up in a poor community, Emmitt learned at a young age to set personal goals. Never taking a break and always working, he found a spot on the roster at the University of Florida. With open arms, Florida welcomed Emmitt and was excited to see him do his thing on the football field. Not being blinded by all the fame he was receiving, Emmitt worked hard, studying for his major in architecture. Balancing being a star football player at a football crazy university and making good grades was no problem for the star. However, beyond his knowledge, he would soo be called up to the NFL before obtaining his degree as an NFL football player.

The young man had been working all his life to get to the point he was at, so it would have been easy for him to go crazy with the signing bonuses and fat checks he was receiving. After all, when you think of a professional athlete, you think of fancy cars, nice houses, and big boats. Emmitt was different. He always knew that football didn’t last forever and that there would be a day when he would have to put the pads away. So instead of throwing his money down the drain, he put it in savings accounts, invested in different stocks, and left just enough for him to live off
