Those 65 plus are comprising a growing segment of the population in the United States. The growing size of the senior population will but strain on resources and social services in ways previous cohorts of elderly have never done before. Health care services and costs are specifically important to this population. The elderly population use more health and medical services than the general population due to their increase health risks associated with aging. Maintaining good nutrition is important to elderly health and preventative measure for illness. Adequate nutrition is critical for the aging population as poor nutritional health can exacerbate the already increased health risks the elderly face. Elderly malnutrition leads to increased health
