Students will also be asked what part communication plays in communication.
Teach Lesson / Model Students will be instructed on what communication is, the difference between verbal and nonverbal communication and the different levels of communication.
Without giving students an example I will ask them within their groups to find 5 nonverbal communications on their own.
Students will be broken up into groups and given 1 of the 5 level of communication: Cliché Conversation, Giving Information and Reporting Facts, Expressing Ideas, Sharing Feelings and Self-Disclosure. They will come up with dialogue using only their level and perform it in front of the classroom. This will include dialogue along with nonverbal communication that goes along with it.

Guided Practice Using higher order questioning I will recall the definition of communication, how it is used in relationships, and how certain levels and kinds are used and the effects of communication on building a healthy relationship.
Independent Practice For homework students will read chapter 10 lessons 1 and 2 in their health textbooks write down the vocabulary and

By doing this I was also able to better assess students knowledge of the content while also keeping them engaged in different activities. I was also able to assess them at different points throughout the lesson by having them give me feedback at each stage. When I felt students mastered one activity I would switch gears and move on to the next activity to build on as well as reinforce what they already learned. My main strategy that I used was cooperative learning as this lesson is on communication I felt it was necessary for students to interact with each other to get the full experience of the content learning. I made sure to have a good flow going as so students would not be overwhelmed or finished early with nothing to
