Effective communication
1.1 Explain why effective communication is important in developing relationship with children, young people and adults.
The connection we make with children/young people or adult is the very touchstone of our existence, devoting time, energy and effort to developing and building relationships. It is one of the most valuable life skills. Working with children requires us to build relationship with them quickly but also in ways that are professional. Communicating positively is more likely to elicit cooperation rather than confrontation or confusion. “We are more likely to communicate information to one another if we have positive relationship.” As a good teaching assistant we should always remember that communication is very important part of our everyday life. As we all communicate with children, young people or their parent to give information or get information, share the thoughts, express our feelings, sharing ideas or solving problem. If the way of communication is positive it will turn into effective communication which helps everyone to build up the relationship between one-another. When the communication is not done well or the communicated message is not given / received as it should intended it occur an errors and turns into a misunderstanding.

Developing verbal and non-verbal communication skill can increase our ability To communicate effectively and this helps us to build up a positive relationship between children / young people / adult.
