EDUCATION IS LIFE ITSELF
EDUCATION IS LIFE ITSELF

Life is about experiences and learning, but not everyone learns the same. Education is a lifetime process with no true beginning or ending. Education consists of experience, environment, socialisation and communication. I agree and believe that education does not start and end in a classroom. The education that we actually receive is the sum of experience that we let ourselves to be exposed to. Education is not only that what develop in somebody is important but as well that it involves the growth of knowledge and comprehension.
My beliefs about learning and teaching are directly linked to my own experiences as a trainee and a student as well. As a teacher, and as being a student for numerous years, I have realised that there are four aspects that make someone an effective teacher: teacher-student relationship, communication, teaching techniques, and continuous learning. I do believe that not all children are able to attain the same educational level but I do feel that every child has his own way of understanding things that make sense to him.
A positive and safe environment is conducive to effective learning. A good teacher must possess teaching skills and the ability to effectively teach all kind of students. With the socio-economic change and the availability of new information in the field of special education, it is imperative to stay up to date and open minded. The values I want to transmit to my students are that education is power and knowledge is essential. Through education anyone can accomplish anything in life.
Teachers act as a facilitator and a guide to their students. Students do need to learn to do things on their own and at their own pace, education is the “creation of knowledge through inquiry rather than the transmission of extant information”.

After going through many years of schooling and observing many different teacher styles I have come up with my own philosophy of teaching. As a future teacher my main philosophy is everyone learns concepts different and student should be treated as individuals. Students are humans; they have different thoughts and different way to enjoy learning. As an educator I want to make sure they embrace their skills and help improve in the areas they need to help on. In my field of special education as a teacher and a person who has a learning disability I’ve learned that effective teaching requires patience and flexibility. Teachers need to learn how to adjust because students respond differently to a many forms of assessment and education.…

A good dedicated passionate teacher is the one who thinks that all students can succeed. With this belief, teachers can inspire themselves to find any route possible to help the students in having a successful life in school and anywhere else. When it comes to special education, this belief really needs to be a true one because special education teachers will have to deal not only with behavioral students or students with high functioning disabilities but they will also be dealing with autistic students and students with severe intellectual disabilities (Grand Canyon University Course Material 2010).…

“We learn more by looking for the answer to a question and not finding it than we do from learning the answer itself.” People go through their whole lives trying to figure out who they are, look for a sense of purpose or belonging, or attempt to discover the right path for them-self. The lucky ones have somehow found what ever it is they were looking for throughout their journey. They try to teach the people who are still looking how to find their way but often fail because it is not up to them where or how someone else should live their life. It is up to the individual himself to find fulfillment.…

For most of us an education opens doors and gives you opportunities. As a child we do not always understand the importance of education, happily drifting through our school years. For some, learning is an uphill struggle. This can be for many reasons, some of us just aren’t academic and do better with ‘hands on’ subjects. Others may not be able to focus on their school work, perhaps because they find it hard to concentrate or because their life outside of school fills their thoughts.…
