WIPO is an acronym which stands for “World
Intellectual Property Organization.”



WIPO is responsible for the promotion of the protection of intellectual property throughout the world, through cooperation among States.

THE HISTORY OF WIPO


WIPO was established in 1967 comprising of 186 member states . The Director General of WIPO is
Francis Gurry and its headquarters is in Geneva,
Switzerland.
