Electrical Daisy Carnival
Have you heard of Electrical Daisy Carnival? Well, to many people this is an experience that they will never forget, to others they attend annually. You might have heard of it as EDC Vegas. Electrical Daisy Carnival is a three day summer event. You must be eighteen years old to be able to attend this event. There are up to two hundred and fifty-two disc jockeys and artists. This event is not just in Vegas it’s in London, Puerto Rico, Orlando, New York and Chicago.
A week before the event I was at home and I received a phone call from my guy best friend. I answered and he was yelling “We’re going to EDC Vegas. Get your stuff ready!”. A day before the Electrical Daisy Carnival we drove all day just to get there, taking turns. We were so excited, playing Electrical Dance Music, and jumping in the car like we were kangaroos. We got to the hotel, went to our room, left our stuff, and then went out to explore Vegas for a little before the event, which was the next day.
We were so anxious that night before the event, we could not sleep we were up till three in the morning. We fell asleep, woke up the next day almost at one in the afternoon. We got ready and left our room to go get something to eat and just hang out before the event started. Looked at the time and it was six pm and the first event started at seven thirty, so it was time for us to get ready and headed out for the event. We got there and we were so hyped and excited.
People from different cities, and states come down just for this event. There are six stages, dozens of rides, and a full gallery’s worth of art, cool off zones, vendors, food and beverages. We were surrounded by the smell of popcorn and cotton candy. It felt like the carnival you liked to go to as a kid. Everywhere we went there were people dressed like rainbows. Everybody was dressed in so many colors, and dressed like clowns, with different costumes. The

It was a crisp spring day the birds were chirping and the bugs were buzzing and my brother and I, at the age of 10, were playing around in the backyard of our house. All we were doing was just playing around in the backyard having a fun time being normal children as always. Then I came up with this perfect idea to play hockey because since we all love hockey. So we wouldn't work garage I got a plastic baseball bat and my brother got a wooden baseball bat plus a whiffle ball.…

In seventh grade I wanted to tryout for volleyball. I was very nervous because I had never played it before. I was super happy when I found out all my friends and I made the team. We had a lot of practices in December to get ready for games in January. I was really nervous for our first game. Our first game was supposed to be right after christmas break ended, but we had a snow day so it was cancelled. I wished it hadn’t been so I could just get it over with, but i was gonna have to wait. We were scheduled for another game later that week. I woke up with a phone ringing and an answering machine saying that school was cancelled due to boiler issues. I sat in bed thinking I had once again gotten lucky and we had no game, I was wrong. We were…

The concert was amazing, very chill and relaxed setting. The weather was perfect the entire weekend with mild temperature and plenty of sunshine. The festival was not extremely crowded, bathrooms and tent grounds had plenty of room. Camped on Grandfather Mountain Campgrounds, a truly badass place at the base of the mountain. An icon of Western North Carolina, Grandfather soars to almost 6,000 feet in elevation, a major peak in the Blue Ridge. No problems throughout the festival, ran smoothly. Railroad Earth killed it every night, great lights and awesome sound. Energy of the crowd was amazing, everybody had high spirits. Nobody at the festival missed Railroad Earth when they came out to play. A band I knew very little about blew me away. One of my favorite bands now from the MOMT 2012. Railroad Earth is the ultimate highlight of the festival, three days of them was almost not enough. Dr. Dog played on friday, awesome band. They started the festival off right giving the crowd great energy. One of my favorite bands at the concert, brought plenty of people in front of the stage to dance. Dr. Dog and Futurebirds sounded different than most of the other bands. The other bands had more of a bluegrass sound. Dr. Dog and Futurebirds sounded more rock, both very good. Futurebirds struck me as a little grunge with great sound. The flag hanging off one of Futurebirds guitars was awesome. The food was awesome, pizza and quesadillas become a favorite of mine. A small amount of food vendors, small tents with clothing and hammocks for sale. Oh yeah, No BEER tent. Strange thing for a music festival to have no alcohol for sale. The mood of the festival was very relaxed and chill. People lounging around on the grass with plenty of room to listen to great music. Cooking and camping outside of the stage area was a fun time. Get to the festival early if you want a secluded camp spot! Great weekend that I will never…

In 2010, Insomniac's 14th annual Electric Daisy Carnival took place at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with more than 185,000 of attendees during weekend. The festival drew criticism due to a 15 year old attendee who snuck into the 16 and up festival, and died of an overdose in the grounds. Local authorities took the unfortunate accident blaming EDM, drugs and everything involving the genre. EDC was then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in its next installment. This outcome, came to a lot of other people (mostly parents) attentions, whome now seem to be concerned over their children who regularly attend dance music events. Many authorities officials across the United States, have tried banning events involving EDM, but have failed miserably, still ignoring all the positive things these events have to offer.…

    Rock Concert

Sex, Drugs, Violence and Rebellion. Those were my low expectations of the heavy metal rock concert that took place on 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. Due to my lack of knowledge with attending Rock Concerts, (mind you this was my first-ever concert in general), my expectations of the concert were based off of stereotypes and television shows that I scrutinized and judged when I was in elementary school. However, my thoughts about the concert, the people that I was going to encounter, and the venue scene were utterly wrong, and even ignorant. Instead of watching drunk girls take off their tight, ripped shirts and loud boys drink cheap beer, I had a music revelation and experienced an extremely, and very much not-anticipated, culture shock.…

It happened one late Sunday afternoon. My friend Dan and I were sitting in his car patiently waiting for the next availably gas pump. It was hot, really hot! The temperature was still over the century mark. The way the sun was beating down on us reminded me of when I was a young boy using my magnifying glass on helpless crawling insects. I was dripping wet with sweat and every part of my body ached. I was so exhausted from the work we did this weekend I could hardly move.…

Looking round, I notice beauty-holic stalls, chatoyant vivid nail paints over the table like a rainbow canvas at the nail art stall. As I took a few steps forward, I see the vibrant and brilliant streaked hair braided very professionally, the hair-styling stall. Once, moving forward, zipped back and forth across the queue of games stalls. Trying out the luck with lucky 7 and giving the best shots with the cans. Going all wild with the mud games and tattoing the face and hand. Adding colour to the event, face painting was a strike.…
