Children develop certain defense system to cope with the traumatic situations in a dysfunctional family. This can also be considered as an adaptation of the survival techniques developed during the emotional or painful situations. a) Hero – is the child who show the maturity than the actual age, by taking over the parental role to balance the imbalance going on in the family system. They are responsible and self- sufficient. They project the family at its best manner and, often referred as role model for siblings. Hero makes the parents feel proud of their parenting despite of what is in reality. b) Scapegoat – one who express the anger or emotions sincerely. However, lacking the attention and recognition in good
