Dress Codes: A Short Story
A 12 year old girl walks into her first period class on a hot thursday in May. She is completely ready to study for the huge test she has tomorrow, but oh no, HER SHOULDERS ARE SHOWING! No students say anything to her because they are just as warm as her. They all mind their own business unaware of the fact that she is breaking the dress code. Until the teacher walks in, he looks around his classroom checking to see if their are any indecencies and sees little stephanie’s shoulders! He doesn’t know what to do, so he does what any good teacher would do, and calls her to the front of the room. “Stephanie are you aware that the whole school can see your shoulders? You must upkeep the dignity of this district and by wearing what you are doing the exact opposite of that.” He proceeds to spend the rest of the class talking about the dress code. Stephanie is forced to stand in front of the class for the duration speech. With the last ten minutes of class she is asked to go down to the nurse to get a more appropriate shirt on. By this time no one in the class got to study for the important test they would be taking the next day and stephanie has been on the verge of tears for a half an hour.
The most efficient way to fix this problem is to just chop off girls arms, but …show more content…
They say it might be hard to keep students under control, but if misbehavior was an issue then we could just expel the kids causing trouble. It would help weed out students that can’t handle themselves in everyday situations. Other opposers of the solution say that students wouldn’t be able to see what they were working on, but I don’t see the problem with it. If students can’t see anything then they can’t be distracted? Not being able to see might even give some kids the feeling of being asleep, because we all know that none of the students actually get a healthy amount of
