Obtaining affordable, quality child day care, especially for children under age 5, is a major concern for many parents, particularly in recent years with the rise in families with two working parents. As the need for child day care has increased, the child day care services industry began to fill the need of non-relative child care.

Centralia Childcare Development Center is one of the few of Chesterfield full-time, commercial day care. They take children Monday through Friday from 6 am to 6pm. They will be our biggest direct competition, but, direct competition in the sense that they provide a similar service. They consistently have a waiting list for children needing day care. Quality of services has always question when Centralia Childcare Development Center is concerned. Poor teaching, poor supervision and limited space are some of the shortcomings. The remaining licensed competition falls into two categories, part-time commercial and home day cares. The part-time daycare facilities run either limited days throughout the week or only before and after school programs. These types of facilities don not offer a full-time
