Donn And Danu Analysis
In the times before time, there was nothing but the great void. The void, longing for companionship, divided in two. From within came the god Donn and goddess Danu. When Donn and Danu set eyes upon one another, a sacred flame ignited within their hearts. They locked into a loving embrace so tight they could never be apart
Locked in this embrace, Donn and Danu born many children. Among them was their son Briain. The children had no room between the embrace of their parents and could not escape. Briain realized that he would need to separate his parents or else he and his siblings would die.

With the world used to excess, it withered from depletion. And so did the people wither and become sick, but never perished.
Seeing the lingering desolation around him, Donn counselled with his brother Finn the priest. Finn proclaimed that there must be death so that renewal can occur. Donn would have none of it and the brothers fought. Long and great was the battle, but the first to weaken was Finn. In doing so, he found himself impaled upon the blade of Donn.
With his brother dead at his feet, anger and pain overcame Donn. So much anger and pain did the mighty warrior feel that his heart burst apart, and his whole being along with it. Parts of his body fell all over the lands and this renewed the world. At the death of Donn, three mighty roots of the oak grew and delved deep into the ground. Thus was the third realm created. The Otherworld, where all men go after their death.
Donn became the god of the Otherworld while Danu remained goddess of heaven. To this day, great is the love between the White Cow of Heaven and the Dark Bull of the Otherworld. Though separated by earth, they continue the cosmos and the cycle of death and rebirth by their
