Dodge Ram 2500 VS. Ford F-250 Comparison and Contrast

Both Dodge and Ford are very competitive heavy duty trucks because Dodge and Ford are known for their durability. In their performance both Dodge Ram 2500 and the ford F-250 are true sport cars. While handling each heavy duty truck each has similar-sized engines, with a slight advantage to the Dodge. Dodge Ram 2500 is not much more powerful than the Ford due to the fact that the Ford has more torque than the Dodge. The torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly. Ford F-250 has a more massive trunk that will accommodate more massive things than the Dodge Ram 2500. Neither Dodge Ram 2500 nor the Ford F-250 has a marked advantage regarding seating capacity. Between the Dodge ram2500 and the ford f-250 there is no clear winner when it comes to hauling capacity. Towing is significantly more the Dodge Ram 2500’s forte than it is the F-250’s. When trying to get the job done with a full-size pickup truck, it’s time to switch to a more heavy duty, and a more freshly redesigned 2010 Dodge Ram 2500. With the lauded 383-horsepower, 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, which produces 400lb-ft of torque starts the stump-pulling power. When needing to bring down an empire, the grunt of the 350-horsepower, 6.7-liter Cummins turbo-diesel inline-six and its 650 pound-feel or torque is what is needed. The transmission options include six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission. This heavy-duty truck includes two and four wheel drive. The payload reaches a weighty 3,220 pounds, and towing capacity hits 13,400 pounds. Handling those loads the ram rides on a fully boxed frame, and to soften the ride, the cab’s C-pillar rides on vibration-damping liquid-filled mounts. For 2010, the Dodge Ram 2500 is available on a crew cab variation, as well as regular cab and

Quite a few car manufacturers have created models similar to this mid-sized truck but still the Chevrolet Colorado LTZ with Z71 suspension and four-wheel drive is the biggest bang for your buck when it comes to smaller trucks. Many individuals say the truck is almost worthless when it comes to being an actual “pick-up” truck. Some say the cab and/or the truck bed is too small, others will tell you that the 3.7 liter engine is just plain silly when it comes to torque and horsepower. Then again, there are people out there that will tell you that all of those things can be put to great use and that just because the truck is small does not mean it is at all worthless.…

Although any truck that meets the safety standards can race the trophy truck class, they, for the most part, feature long travel suspensions and high power engines. They are intended for desert racing, and are not street legal. Trophy Trucks can reach speeds in excess of 135 miles per hour even over rough terrain. This puts them among the fastest off-road vehicles in the world. The trucks are most frequently associated with the Baja 1000 race, series that have featured trophy trucks including SCORE International, and Best In The Desert or BITD, in which they are referred to as "Trick Trucks".…

Someone could argue with a simple tire upgrade to the challenger it would improve its handling making just as fast in the figure eight or even faster than the Camaro. People could also argue that quarter mile times matter more because they might only care about how fast a car can accelerate from a stop. Someone could also argue that they like the feel of the extra horse power of the challenger over the Camaro. A person could argue that a challenger is a better daily driver because the seats and entire interior is bigger. If you are a bigger person, the challenger would provide way more room both width and length wise. Someone could argue that the price difference between the Camaro and Challenger is worth it because the Challenger has a larger engine with more horsepower and the car its self is bigger than the Camaro, so it is going to take more materials the make the…

Introduced to the market in 1990, the Ford Explorer quickly became the most popular sport utility vehicle In America. SUV’s are designed to travel off-road, are built high off the ground to clear rocks and other obstructions underneath. The explorer fulfilled consumers’ desire of comfort and ruggedness. Ford’s engineers designed the Explorer to use the same truck frame as its older Ranger pickup, allowing it to be manufactured on the same assembly lines. The frame being used for the Explorer allowed for more room underneath the car but raised the center of gravity. The suspension for the Explorer was also the same as the old Bronco which was the subject of over 800 lawsuits due to it being susceptible to rolling over. Ford’s engineers suggested several designs to minimize rolling over such as, mounting the wheels further apart, lowering the engine, or replacing the twin I-beam suspension, all of which would have delayed the planned release date. So instead they chose alternatives which would not delay the release date.…

I don't think any firm can guarantee complete product safety, especially companies as large as Ford and Bridgestone-Firestone. Both these companies produce such a large quantity of products that something is bound to go wrong. Also, no matter how safe a product might be there still can be potential problems with user error. An example would be how no matter safe Ford makes a car, there is still potential for an accident if the driver is inexperienced or if there is bad weather. So usually it is impossible for a firm to guarantee complete product safety.…
