Demonic possession is no laughing matter – but if you find yourself pitted against one of the 13 most dangerous demons in Hell, watch out! Anton Szandor LaVey, the former High Priest of the Church of Satan, listed the most powerful of Lucifer’s minions in his notorious book, The Satanic Bible. “Theologians have cataloged some of the names of devils in their lists of demons, but the roster which follows contains the names most effectively used in Satanic ritual,” wrote LaVey, known to his followers as The Black Pope. In addition to what he called the “crown princes” of Hell (Satan, the fallen angel Belial and the destructive sea monster Leviathan) LaVey lists other vicious demons who also occupy the “Royal Palace of…

On the most common level, you are taught that the biblical entity of “Satan” was not actually real, and you are actually worshipping a light God. A close friend of Anton LaVey’s, Susan Atkins, said in an interview, “Anton told me that as a Satanists he does believe in the God of the Bible but he refused to worship Him and made a conscious decision to worship Satan instead.” In the Church of Satan, there is a hierarchy. If you are on the first or second “level” of their hierarchy, which is the majority of followers, you are all taught the same principle the Satanic Church made up, and does not even believe themselves.…

It seems as though in today’s age and time that Satan’s existence is more real and prevalent not only among society, but among Christians, as well. But, it isn’t the talk of Satan that is alarming so much as the type of attention and talk that he is receiving. Our modern day society has transformed him from being the evil, factual being that we know him as into a sinister, more humors fictional character used to make ‘great’ movies and entertainment.…

While Satan’s humane emotions were demonstrated earlier in the narrative, his soliloquy further explicates the complexity of his thoughts. Throughout the first few books, Satan does not demonstrate any vulnerabilities. He is glorified as an obstinate and prideful Spirit who surpasses all others in Hell and who knows exactly what he yearns. Though Satan’s abilities are of no question, this one-sided view of Satan – that he is a competent and powerful devil – appears lacking; therefore, the demonstration of Satan’s vulnerability in his soliloquy is a progression in his character development. Satan finally senses “horror and doubt,” and is drenched in grief by his “remembrance from what state [he] fell” (4:17, 38-39). This is the first time Satan is described to have self-doubt, and specifically, in…

The bible tells the tale of the Devil as being an Angel that went his separate way and was exiled by God for his immorality. He is characterized as a supernatural being able to take any shape or form. He has strong powers of deception and uses them to tempt his victims. He is a sinful creature who longs for lust and will steal, kill, and destroy for pride. He is the fountain of evil and the source of all sins.…

Short Essay on Angelology and Satanology This truth must first be established, Satan and God are not equal. God is omniscience, omnipresent, and omnipotent; Satan is not. The Bible is very clear that Satan is a created being, by God the creator. In the book of Ezekiel 28:15, Satan is described as a lesser being, “from the day that thou wast created,” showing his inequality with God. Religious Dualism is defined as, “two mutually hostile forces or beings in the world, the one being the source of all good, the other the source of all evil” (Elwell, 2001, p. 357). In more moderate circles it is referred to as “light and darkness”, or in the vein of Chinese thought, “yin and yang.” These all ascribe to the concept that, “the universe becomes the battleground for these two opposing forces” (Elwell, 2001, p. 357). This system of belief has no support or basis for its claims. The Bible, as our final authority on all things pertaining to God and Satan, shows us a very different view. Let’s address the claim that God and Satan are equals for a moment. Revelation 20:10 states that Satan will be judged by God, “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” To add more clarity, we see what God does to Satan during the judgment, “And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and…

Satan places his pride first and resists obedience to God, thereby taking the alternative that is also available to human beings. But by persisting in his perversion of free will, Satan's sin expands and develops consequences for the human race. His resistance amounts to a claim of autonomy--total self-creation--which, as Milton's readers…

When talking about religion you have to get an idea about the ideals and beliefs that religion carries. Satanism represents indulgence instead of abstinence and kindness shown to people who deserve it. It also represent vengeance instead of turning the other cheek when people do you wrong. In theistic satanism they believe that satan is an actual deity or force to revere or worship. While in LaVeyan Satanism is more of an atheistic. According to LaVey, neither God or Satan are actual beings. Instead, Satan is a symbol representing the qualities embraced by Satanists.…

This, however, differs from the stereotypical depiction of Satan in Hell by making Satan appear more like a monster rather than the angel he once was. Dante sees Satan positioned, “from his mid-breast forth… three faces on his head… underneath each came forth two mighty wings, such as befitting were so great a bird,” (Canto 34). As Satan tries to move and escape, the more he flaps his bat-like wings, he stays more frozen and it only gets more cold in circle…
