The question of the chapter tackles the question of why the Old Deal failed. Edsforth breaks his answer up into three different sections, but the main thesis is that Hoover's administrative policy and movements towards recovery were the reason for failure. There was an increase in lending to banks in the hopes that this would generate investment which would in turn lead to employment and spending. However, "fear of failure-not risk taking for profit-dominated individual and institutional decisions". The second issue that Edsforth describes is how Hoover failed to create jobs or relief for those that were suffering. The theme of the chapter is the inadequacy and mismanagement of Hoover's administration…

The Cold War Era was a time in history where there was hostility between many different countries. The one most notable was the hostility between the Soviet Union and United States, the fight between Communism and Capitalism. As the most dominant country the U.S. offered assistance to countries threatened by Communism. They felt that Communism was wrong and was not the right way to run a government. Between the years 1945 and 1980 the United States and Soviet Union’s relationship was ruined, which caused a lot of distrust between the two. The two countries never went to war, but there were a lot of disagreements, among them the U.S. was a democracy and the Soviet Union was under a dictatorship. Leading up to the Cold War America became the richest world power and the Soviet Union had a poor economic base. One of the biggest disputes the two countries had was over nuclear weapons and espionage. The Cold War had a huge reflection on pop culture in America.…

The first question is all to do with the earth’s atmosphere and the ISA (International Standard Atmosphere). The second question involves solving a problem in that you are an operations officer at a flying school for a national airline and air force. They want you to purchase an aircraft that complies with their recommendations, then drawing up the specification for that aircraft as in a wing configuration. The second part of question two involves figuring out if recommended Cessna 150’s worth 10,000 euro each are a good or bad option and then proving the airline management right because they think it would be a really bad idea in buying them. The final part of the question is helping the flying school to buy existing aircraft. The third question is asking you to do a labelled hand drawing of a cross-section of a wing. The fourth question is all about a helicopter rotor head system and the final question is to do a labelled sketch of an aircraft…
