Divergent book report
Divergent Book Report Divergent is a novel by Veronica Roth. This story happens in Chicago in the future. The city is separated into 5 factions based on personality traits. The factions are Abnegation(selflessness), Erudite(intelligence), Candor(Honesty), Dauntless(bravery), and Amity(peaceful). One day every year, all sixteen-year-olds take a personality test that will tell them which faction they are going to be in. After getting the results of their test, they have to decide if they want to stay with their family or go to a new faction. Beatrice Prior is 16 and was born into an Abnegation family, but selflessness does not match her personality like it does her brother, Caleb.

When Beatrice has to take her aptitude test, the results are strange: instead of matching neatly into one faction, she shows equal scores for three factions: Abnegation, Erudite, and Dauntless. This makes her "Divergent" and she is told to never to tell this information to anyone because if she does they will kill her. Even for a Divergent, it is very rare to have results that match with three factions. Even though she is a Divergent, it's unusual to have results with three factions. When she is going home from the test, she runs into a factionless man who grabs her hand and scares her. She starts to feel nervous because she doesn't want to end up like him and is worried about risking her normal life and failing.

On Choosing Day, Beatrice surprises everyone by making the decision to leave Abnegation and join Dauntless, and her brother Caleb chooses Erudite. She instantly leaves to join Dauntless. Beatrice renames herself Tris when she reaches the Dauntless compound to not sound like such a "good girl" becomes good friends with other transfers, Christina, Al, and Will. Another transfer, Peter, immediately starts trying to antagonize her because he does not believe Tris is good enough to be in Dauntless. They have to rank in the top ten at the end of

A couple of years ago I read a book called Unwind. This book, written by Neal Shusterman, is about a boy that runs from his family. He ran from his family after they signed a contract to have his body harvested. Being “unwound” happened to be a decision that the parents made. Connor’s parents signed a contract without him knowing. After he found the papers in a drawer, he ran away to save his life. Throughout the book, Connor endures many challenges. His mental stamina allows him to outsmart juvey cops, or police that looked for runaway unwinds. He meets many people, but few become his companions. Unwind is a book that I relate to in unique ways.…

In the play, “Much Ado About Nothing,” by William Shakespeare, Beatrice is distraught when Claudio shames Hero, and as a result she manipulates Benedick into agreeing to duel Claudio. She knows that Hero is innocent: “O, on my soul, my cousin is belied!” (4.1.155.133). She is furious with Claudio and wants him to pay for what he has done: “Ah, how much might the man deserve of me that would right her!” (4.1.275-276.141). She wishes that she could get this revenge herself: “O God, that I were a man! I would eat his heart in the market-place,” (4.1.320-321.143). However, she knows that she cannot do this on her own. For this reason, she tricks Benedick into agreeing to kill Claudio. Claudio and Benedick are best friends so when Beatrice first…

Of all the characters from Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing”, Beatrice is perhaps the most interesting. As a brilliant and outspoken, her character is quite the opposite of her cousin, Hero. One must ask, “In what way is Beatrice different from other women during Shakespeare's era?” And furthermore, “for what purpose did the author write her as the firm character she plays as?” Beatrice’s character cannot be adequately pegged down by the interpretation of the reader, as she is both seemingly realistically presented and yet fictionally portrayed by the author.…

In the book, Savvy is trying out for a 18U team, Fire, at the age of 13 with her friend, Nina Gonzalez. Meanwhile her sister Callie is a freshmen trying out for the varsity cheerleading team. I predict that because Savvy is a really good player, the older players will push her around. I also think her sister will get troubled with cheerleading on her size because it is mentioned how she sits on her iPod to listen to music all day and eat junk food. I think that since both sisters are very serious in their sports, they want to be as best as they can, they will do anything to improve their game. I predict that they will most likely incorporate drugs to their game. Most likely they will take steroids. I say steroids because athletes that take drugs usually take steroids because it makes them stronger and be their best at their game temporarily. I believe that Savvy and Callie using drugs to enhance their game will leave them ending up to be sick and eventually hospitalized since they are very young and will proboable become addicted from taking drugs. This act of taking steroids for the girls game will also jeopardize their relationship with their friends and family from being caught with the drugs. I think Savvy will lose her closest friend, Nina Gonzalez, whom plays on the same team as her.…

Beatrice and Hero are complete opposites to each other. One of the ways is by their personality, Beatrice is known for her fiery personality and happens to be outstandingly loyal, whilst Hero is quiet and doesn’t seem to care about much. “Sweet Hero! She is wronged, She is slandered, She is undone” (Shakespeare 75). Beatrice was outraged by Hero’s shaming so much that she started crying. Beatrice was so uneasy about this that she went as far as to order Benedick to kill Claudio. Beatrice is very…
