Activity – Understanding Organisations and the Role of Human Resources 3HRC

Activity A new manager is starting in the organisation shortly. You have been asked to provide a written briefing note for this new-starter, so that he or she can gain some understanding of the organisation in preparation for his or her start. Remember who you are writing this briefing sheet for, write it in a style that will encourage the person to read it and make sure that you include all the information that the new manager will need.
You will do this in two parts.

1 General background information about the organisation. (100 words) * The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions was created under section 57 of the 2010 Constitution of the Cayman Islands. The first Director of Public Prosecutions of the Cayman Islands was appointed on May 1st 2011.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is an independent statutory that is responsible for administration of all criminal and traffic proceedings within the Cayman Islands and with the interest to provide international legal assistance and extraditions matters.
The Director of Public Prosecutions is head of office and is assisted by the Deputy Director, three Senior Crown Counsel and eight Crown Counsel and their administrative support staff.

2 The main products and services of the organisation. (50 words) * The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions prosecutes a wide range of alleged criminal offences, such as offences relating to serious criminal offences, importation of drugs, frauds and money laundering.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions provides advice on criminal preceding that raise as a question of the public’s interest that is fair and seeking rights for individuals to uphold the responsibility with consistency and integrity of the society.

    First I will start off with the one who has all the authority, the judge. The judge is the one who makes all the rules. Next is the prosecuting attorney. The prosecuting attorney may also be known as the district attorney, state’s attorney, county attorney, commonwealth attorney or solicitor. The prosecuting attorneys duty is to conduct criminal proceedings on the behalf of the state or the people against those accused. The three main roles of the prosecutor are investigating crimes, to decide whether or not to instigate legal proceedings and to appear in court. All of the duties of a prosecutor may become too much for one person to handle so they supervise a staff of assistant district attorneys who do most of the work in the courtroom. The prosecuting attorney determines which cases to pursue by the amount of evidence that they gather. If the attorney cannot find enough evidence to get a conviction then they may make the decision to drop the case. Next is the defense attorney. The defense attorney is the one who represents the one being accused of a crime. Public defenders also represents those accused of crimes, however they are state employed lawyers.…
