Class: EAP 4303
As we know, we can not find two same leaves in the world. There are many countries in the word and they have many different cultures. That is the reason that our world is interesting. After I have been lived in ST.louis for seven months, I found that Chinese high school has different high school education from American high school education.
America high school students have more free times than Chinese high school students. American high school teacher won’t force their students to study and they also don’t want to order them. They let their students to do some community activities and enjoy their club times. They encourage them to choose what they like to study in subject and it depends on their interestings. Well,they have required courses and some electives.
Chinese high school control their students a lot, such as wearing uniform and going to gum everyday. There are usually many rules to tie down students. Teachers tend to decided what their students should do in their class and students should sit straightly, listen quietly and take notes quickly. Teacher limits their students play games and give them a lot of homeworks. Chinese high school have 10 classes everyday and their students should spend 13 hours in school. It is a big study lesson for children.
The reason why there are so many differences between the Chinese and American high school education First, the number of Chinese high students is too large but the number of colleges is small. Second, the value of Chinese are education backgroud and ability and their parents prefer their childen to go to a good university. They think that a good education backgroud will take a good job , a decent and tiptop job. Overall, I am explaining about how the cultures are different, both of them have good or bad effects. For me, I prefer my childern can have a American high school education in China. I hope my children can have a happy and easy high school. But personally I think there is a long way for Chinnes high school education to try hard.
