Does anyone know which children’s toy also helps doctors in physical therapy? Play dough is actually great for physical therapy! Play dough does not only stimulate a child’s creativity. It also improves their eye/hand coordination, and fine motor skills. According to Encyclopedia of Children’s Heath, fine motor skills generally refers to the small movements of the hands, wrists, fingers, feet, toes, lips, and tongue. This makes it the perfect product to use in physical therapy to rebuild the muscles in the hand, wrist and fingers. Did you know that this product was first manufactured in Cincinnati, Ohio as wallpaper cleaner in the 1930s? This putty-like wallpaper cleaner was concocted by Noah McVicker for Kutol Products, a family-owned Cincinnati-based soap company. Only after World War II McVicker’s nephew Joseph McVicker, joined Kutol and discovered the wallpaper cleaner was being used by nursery school children to make Christmas ornaments. The product was then reworked and marketed to Cincinnati schools in the mid-1950s. Play-Doh was demonstrated at an educational convention in 1956 and major department stores opened retail accounts to sale the product. Advertisements promoting Play-Doh on children’s television shows in 1957 furthered the product’s sales. In 2003, the Toy Industry Association added Play-Doh to its “Century of Toys List”. Today I’m going to show you how to make play dough.…

First, make sure to wash all the apples very thoroughly. The reason why is to make sure the apples are clean of any and all pesticides and dirt. Next, cut the apples in half and carve out the center of each half, which my grandmother used to call as coring the apples. Next, slice the apples into quarters and puree, peel and put them in the blender or a food processor. Make sure to turn the blender on and keep the blender or food processor going until the apples are finely ground. The reason a person wants the apples finely ground is because the finer the pulp the more juice that can be extracted. Please understand, a blender or processor is not requested or needed because the apples can be in a big pot in about 4 inches of water.…

First you take out two pieces of bread and lay them on your plate. Then you open up the butter, get the butter knife; put some butter on the knife, then spread it on one side of the bread. Make sure that the side you put the butter on is the side down. The other side of the bread that is faces up; put two slices of cheese on it. After you put the cheese on it; put piece bread on it, then spread butter on that side too. When that part is done, turn the stove on number four; so that it is not up to high; or to low. Place the frying pan on the eye that you turned on. Once it gets hot put the sandwich in the pan. You can put a lid on it to make it cook faster or just leave it open. Let it cook for like two minutes and then turn it to the other side and repeat the same thing. Once you see that the bread is brown a little, you can take it out using a spactula. It is then ready to…
