DIESEL MECHANIC Growing up in Odessa I remember waking up in the mornings, going outside and taking a deep beath. The smell of West Texas air is a mixture of Diesel, cattle, oil and dirt. These are a few of the scents that I cannot see myself living without. In the mornings I would gather my toy trucks and toy tools to go play in the backyard. I would spend hours outside taking things apart and putting them back together. My father would even let me help him repair or take a look at our vehicles. Therefore, my parents gave me the idea of becoming a diesel mechanic. After getting the idea of maybe becoming a diesel mechanic I began doing some research. 1-How much education was needed to become a diesel mechanic? -Formal training programs for diesel mechanics are offered through community colleges. Programs typically last between six months and two years, and at the end of the program, a certificate, diploma or associate degree is obtained.
2-Is this job what you thought it would be? -I thought about this job that it was easy and it is but it is only hard when you start working that you still have no idea how to do some things and you start to stress.
3-Do you in joy your job? -I like this job because it's what I wanted to do since I was a child because of my taste for diesel
4-How many years have you worked as a diesel mechanic? -I have 10 years working as a diesel mechanic.
5-What is the toughest part of your job? -The most difficult part of my job is the load changes
