Definition Essay: Love Doesn T Know God
Love means many different things to many different people. Some people think of love in a romantic or sexual way. Some think of love from friends and family or even a pet. There are many different kinds of love, but what is it actually? The American heritage dictionary defines love as an intense affection based on familial or personal ties. If this is so, then how can someone feel love for random strangers. Like when someone sees a picture of a starving child and they want to help or the recent shooting in Las Vegas, did people not feel love for those who were hurt? Nevertheless, love is not something earned through knowing someone or doing good deeds, love is always there for you, it is not just an emotion or something that feels good, love …show more content…
Everyone who loves has been born of God and Knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." God's love is endless. He expresses his love through grace, forgiveness and mercy but his biggest act of love was the cross. It says in Romain 5:8 " But God demonstrates his own love towards us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us " He loved his people so much that he sacrificed himself and died on the cross. This death was not quick and easy, it was full of excruciating pain. He was beat up, stabbed, whipped, spat on. He loved people so much he was willing to get nails stabbed through his hands and feet and hung on a piece of wood. Love is sacrifice and the cross is the greatest example of that.
Love is more than an emotion. Emotions change, they come and go, but true love is strong, it always exists no matter the circumstance. Hebrew 13:8 says "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." It is often believed that if someone does enough good deeds, then they can earn Gods love and go to heaven, but love is not earned it is unconditional. God loved humans even when they were sinners and that is not any different today. True love exists through the good times and bad, it never gives up and lasts

Love can be seen in many different ways for many different people. Though, the internet states it as an intense feeling of deep affection. That is plain, boring, and does not really branch off of what love is. Love is when butterflies erupt, or a face brightens at the mention of someone's name. Love is when two people have a mutual respect for each other and they want to give them everything they can possibly give.…

What is love? I never knew until I was fourteen year old at my first horse show. My family has always told me that when I loved someone or something unconditionally for exactly what it was without expecting anything in return, and when I was away from whatever I loved I would feel like something was missing, and only then would I truly understand love. At that first horse show I understood what they told me. For me my first horse show changed my life, it made me feel so alive and I never wanted to leave. Everyone has their own definitions of love but mine is for a series of events and is much different from the typical "love" that most people understand.…

Love; a noun; an intense feeling of deep affection. Now, when the definition of love is used in today's society, one might think of a scrappy young couple barely getting by in a worn down apartment in New York or Portland, sitting down in a pile of blankets and thinking of the most unique child names for their soon to be. One might think of a love between a soft newborn and their mother moments after being brought into the world, the love and admiration in the mother's eyes thinking of all the endless possibilities their life could have. Love could be used when the parents send their child off to school, tears filling their eyes because they are so proud to see the love of their life, their born child growing up and experiencing the vast…

Let’s look at the spiritual dimension of love. Many scriptures in the Bible speak of it. “For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever shall believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. This verse in the Bible clearly states that God sent His son, Jesus Christ to the world to take care of our transgressions and our iniquities. Another verse in the Bible is a verse that all should be familiar with, considering it is one of the Ten Commandments. “Thou shalt not avenge, not bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord.” Leviticus 19:18. Many songs express the love of God or express how much His children love Him. “I love you Lord, and I lift my voice, to worship you, oh my soul, rejoice! Take joy, my King, in what You hear, and let it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear.” This song brings back memories for me because I remember I would go to church when I was a little girl, and I would hear my mother sing this song in the choir stands, and when we would go home, it would stay stuck in my head all day. This song and many more songs not only reminded me of how much I love God, but how much I love others around me.…

Love is an incredibly powerful word. When you're in love, you always want to be together, and when you're not, you're thinking about being together because you need that person and without them your life is incomplete. This love is unconditional affection with no limits or conditions: completely loving someone. It's when you trust the other with your life and when you would do anything for each other. When you love someone you want nothing more than for them to be truly happy no matter what it takes because that's how much you care about them and because their needs come before your own. You hide nothing of yourself and can tell the other anything because you know they accept you just the way you are and vice versa.…
