Death Penalty
The death penalty is the execution of a convicted criminal by the government for crimes that are called capital crimes. The most obvious capital crime (crime punishable by death) in countries that have the death penalty is murder. Countries that use the death penalty use a range of methods for carrying out executions; this includes things like hanging lethal injection and in some countries firing squads. The countries that still use the death penalty are china, Iran, Pakistan, Sudan, use and others.
Some people think that the death penalty is fair that since the convicted person took a life his life should be taken as well, as it says some people think that the death penalty is an easy punishment and because by killing somebody you end their suffering but life in prison is a far more difficult punishment than execution.
In this essay I’m going to present two sides the argument and then my own I am going to show you what some countries think about the death penalty.
Some people believe that the death penalty is fair and side as it is `humane and only humane methods are used.
However some people believe that electrocution and gassing are `cruel and uncivilized` and have no place in a civilized society.
Some people believe in a different argument as they think that the death penalty is fair as it may act as a deterrent therefore the criminals will think twice before committing a crime.
On the other hand some people believe that the death penalty creates more violence as the death penalty generates sympathy from some people towards convicted prisoners and can even provoke people into seeking revenge against the government.
To conclude the abolitionists choose to ban the death penalty because of the risk of killing an innocent person as the statistics show that in America sin the 1970`s some of the people who were given the death sentence were further investigated and were eventually found innocent therefore the evidence was wrong making the risk innocent
