Television or T.V. is a communication media for transmitting moving images with or without sound. The television has become a common place in homes and business around the world. The television is one of today’s most popular source of entertainment and source for news and other information. The television has been around since the 1950s, but it has not always looked like it does today. The television has changed a lot, like the adding of color and sound, and also how it looks. There were a lot of people who worked on improving the television, for example some inventors helped to improve the quality of the picture, and others helped on improving the idea of having color television. What’s your favorite thing to do when you come home from work? Let me guess watch T.V. well that’s what over 290 million people in the united states do when they get home from work or school. Paul Nipkow was a German inventor who developed a rotating-disc technology to transmit pictures over wire in 1884 called the Nipkow disk. In the 1920's an inventor named John Logie Baird patented the idea of using arrays of transparent rods to transmit images for television. Charles Jenkins invented a mechanical television system called radiovision and claimed to have transmitted the earliest moving silhouette images on June 14, 1923. In 1927 philo Farnsworth made the first working TV with electric scanning that could both pickup and display devices. German scientist, Karl Braun invented the cathode ray tube oscilloscope (CRT) in 1897, and which is the picture tube found in modern TV sets.
