Introduction

Conservatories are useful and functional extension to a home, they can also have a stylish and attractive design that adds to the overall appearance of the property, both inside and out.

There are a variety of styles and designs to choose from which each have their own advantages and unique characteristics.

Homeowners are faced with a choice of product features now including improved thermal efficiency, high specification self-cleaning glass, bifold opening doors and coloured frames. They also have choices when it comes to the frame of the house. They can opt for a u-PVC frame, aluminum or a timber frame.

The conservatory market in the UK was estimated to be worth nearly £620m in the year 2014. A recovery in the economy in general and the housing market in particular has helped to increase spending on improvements to the home, particularly with interest rates so low. The market is sophisticated in regards the product range not only are companies selling conservatories but also glazed extensions that might have a glass or a solid roof, verandas, loggias and orangeries.
