Culture and Discipline
Culture is the customs, beliefs, social, and general family behaviors of a group or groups of people.
The way children are raised also has a lot to do with the type of culture that they are raised in. Although discipline and punishment may vary widely depending on the part of the world the family is from. One thing still remains the same. Good parents want what is best for the child. The main difference would be what the parents believe is best for the child such as; an American mothers tend to lean towards wanting there child to be socially accepted financial well being an they tend to push towards more independence as the get older. And younger they spend a lot of time baby proofing things and always taking on them selves to make sure the child is safe and not so much as giving the child the chances to learn safety issues on there own. And with a lot of Italian mothers, they may lean more towards letting the child learn on there own and not being as protective such as baby proofing everything around them. Giving the infant more chances to learn safety practices on there own. Culture has so much affect on parenting mostly because of hundreds of years of child raising techniques passed down from generation to generation. But for a parent to instill manners and to teach a child to be a part of society when they get older there has to be discipline. And in-order to do so the parent has to under stand there is a difference in discipline and punishment. When you discipline a child you not only punish them when they misbehave but you help them learn what they are being punished for. So discipline is teaching right from wrong and good from bad. When you punish a child you are giving a consequence for misbehaving, or doing wrong. That would help them from a young age learn there are consequences for doing wrong.
If I had to chose a technique I would lean more towards letting the child learn from there mistakes. And if and when they do wrong make sure the punishment
