Cultural Identity Research Paper
Our individual cultures are reflected in so many ways. This is by the way we do things such as the food we eat, what we wear, how we identify ourselves, even how we speak. Many people judges others based on one's appearance. Most people consider me as a black, spoiled rotten girl who thinks she is all that. None of that is true. I say this because you can see it, I do not act like that at all. That is just people's opinion based on my appearance. You can see see my cultural identity in the food, religion, community, music, language, and many more things. All of these things create the person I am today and how my family and I developed my cultural identity. My family plays a huge role in my life. From the food to all the spices we have. There is a huge variety of the things to eat. I am very picky about food though. This makes it hard for me because, my family cooks all kinds of food and I sometimes do not eat it. Boiled crawfish has to be my top favorite. Cajun food has opened me up into trying different things. Everyone knows how much I love music and singing (I can not sing). I mostly listen to R&B hip-hop. This genre of music shows the pop side of me. My second favorite is Gospel. It is very important to me because of how religious I am. You may say well those to do not go together, which they do not. This shows how odd I am. To conclude, my cultural identity shows you something completely different than a black, spoiled rotten girl who thinks she’s all that I am judge by.
