I agree with all the characteristics of professionalism that are described in this book. Professionals adhere to a code of ethics; these include responsibilities to the public, employers, customers, and colleagues. Professionals create organizations to help them share (peer-to-peer) training, values, and skills. Though there are similarities between trade workers and professionals, each seeking to further their education in their chosen fields. Professionals are more involved in the education of their fields by creating organizations. These organizations work with colleges to help standardize and provide education that meets a career’s changing needs, employ competent faculty, and introduce new technologies. It also promotes and authenticates the profession.
