Creative Writing: A Fictional Narrative
“This isn’t a question of whether or not you think you’re good for me, this is me asking you if you want me.” I looked him in the eye as I shed a tear.
“It was never a question of whether I wanted you. Of course I want you. My heart beats really fast whenever I’m around you, believe me,” he pleaded.
“So then, why don’t you do something about it?”
We sat in solitude as he held me in his arms. I could hear his pulse quickening with every minute that passed and all I could do was listen and observe.
“A part of me wants you to move on sometimes because I know you put up with a great deal.” My heart sank and in that moment his words felt like an anchor on my back.

I looked deeply into his eyes, deeper than I’ve ever looked at anyone before. It was in this moment that I knew I was about to have my first kiss. A part of me felt excited, but another part of me was afraid of rejection.
“You seem uneasy are you okay?” he spoke softly but didn’t move his gaze.
“I’m okay, I just--” he stopped me.
The next thing you know, I’ve been pulled in and I am kissing the guy I’ve always dreamed to be with. I felt unencumbered and fulfilled as if a part of me was made whole. It was as if I was clairvoyant, I had this image in my head of my life and what it had planned for me and I was content with the picture I drew in my head.
I knew that it was a risky idea to illustrate a future I had not yet been a part of, but I was blinded by love and as we moved forward in our relationship, it was apparent that the fairytale I painted in my mind was slowly uncovering itself as a horror story.
