Crash the film
The word art is defined by Merriam-Webster dictionary as something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that expresses important ideas or feelings. The motion picture Crash for example is an art form because it satisfies the definition of art. An individual took the time to write the story which was then turned into a screen play. The plot of the screenplay Crash evinces bits and pieces of racism that takes place on a daily basis in the city of Los Angeles, CA. The flick captures racial stereotypes by divulging into the lives of characters all of different race and ethnicities (the screenplay is a low concept film that focuses on the characters to display a point). The motion picture Crash manifests important themes and ideas about the 21st century American zeitgeist and import ideas about life. By textbook definition the film is considered a work of art its original and deals with the important topic, case in point, racism. Crash also it sets forth a wholesome view of life. Each character in the film is a victim of racial tensions and also demonstrated as the oppressor to an extent. Some of the main characters in the film are Anthony and Peter Waters. Anthony and Peter are African-American males. In the film their constantly trying to prove to themselves and society that they aren’t the thuggish black male stereotype portrayed in the media. Even though the two commit crimes. A few other main characters in the film are Rick Cabot and his female counterpart Jean. Rick is a white district attorney that use race as a means to navigate through society. He manipulates voter opinion by trying to appear like he cares about minority rights. Rick and Jean have a prejudiced outlook on life which is exacerbated after the two are carjacked by Anthony and Peter.
