Corrow Commons Analysis

A place of deep longing, that was Corrow Commons, to an elderly man and his son, who were all but familiar with the smell emanating from the dilapidated common, to which they once called their home. The cries of the damned called out to the old man, for him to ignore it behind a mask of a face which holds every voice dear, they were nostalgic… but he knew what needed to be done. His son was looking beyond the Corrow Common’s almost dreaded visage, knowing it was the one thing haunting his father’s otherwise clear mind. Well that is except one dapper fellow who the father came to despise, he would often come by to flaunt his wealth towards them, as he was a heir to a corporation let to die. Though he never deserved what came to him… as did everyone else who were buffeted by the cruel hand of fate. The son knew just about every single tenant, most of them were very rich, as was the father. No single person governed the Corrow Commons as it was under the joint ownership of multiple parties, most of whom had similar levels of authority within the common. The wife who at this moment had already set the table and was reading a good book by the fire said rather furiously “How long did your old man keep you? I was worried sick, I had good reason to think someone would find you buried in a ditch!” He laughed, a rather worried laugh, and said “Well I didn’t travel that far…” His wife set down her book and spoke rather loudly from the study “You still took your darn time, I mean really, keeping your wife waiting.” She stood and began walking toward the front door. His wife then said “Where is your old man?” He beckoned her closer as he had not the heart to shout across the room and said “I felt he needed some time to himself.” His wife’s eyes were closed as she spoke “What you mean to say is that you couldn’t bear to watch that dreaded place go up in flames.” He knew this to be true, that place represented, in essence his father. She sighed and motioned him to follow her to dinner, the candles were very short… this led to him apologizing, she of course ignored it and gave him a sliver of chicken with a fine amount of gravy.
