Cool Hand Luke Symbolism
What and who is cool hand Luke? Cool Hand Luke is a 1967 American prison drama film, and cool hand Luke is a name that was given to one of the prisoners. No inmate got a nickname unless Dragline gave him one. Dragline gave Luke the name of "Cool Hand Luke" because of a winning poker hand that Luke had. King, 10,9,4,3. Dragline said that he won the hand with nothing. Luke replied, "Yeah, well sometimes nothing can be a real cool hand." His real name was Lucas Jackson, the main character of the movie which symbolically represents the life of Christ. Now I will continue and explain some scenes in which Luke symbolizes God. For example, the scene that had such resemblance with god was when Luke said he can eat fifty hard- boiled eggs in one hour. After the burial Luke is let out, but that night he makes a hole in the floor of the bunkhouse and escapes. Soon he is captured and punished by the warden.
