A controversial article that I am having an issue with is an article by Thomas Sowell, who is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution.2013 Creators Syndicate, Inc. “Do Gun-Control Laws Control Guns?”Sowell, 2013. According to this article the discussions on gun control are dominated by two factors: the National Rifle Association and The Second Amendment. But that the over all concerns is “whether gun-control laws actually reduce gun crimes in general or murder rates in particular”. However, some studies may show no reduction in gun crimes, including murder, under gun-control laws. Sowell, 2013. I have noticed a quote on the article stating, “Nothing is easier than disarming the law-abiding and peaceful”, I am very curious to what does this really mean. I think that a lot of people are getting the whole issue with guns with not having the right to protect the “home”. No, nothing is wrong with this but giving the history of violence there should be some stricter guideline to go through such as: having certain gun available for homes, taking away the privilege of being able to carry a gun outside the home. In the article there were discussions on gun control that I really just did not agree on for example, I do feel that gun control does stop some crimes but that it is so easy for an individual to obtain a weapon to that it really just not feel as if the world is a safer place to live in now that everyone is caring a weapon. I felt safer when only law officials were caring the weapons. I have always understood that people want to have the right to protect their families but I feel that it has gotten way beyond that. Protecting our families is not an issue the issue is weapons and the amount of weapons available and more and more guns are being not only sold but there are exchanging hands everyday, and this is a problem in where everyone thinks that gun-control laws are needed. With that being said I still do not agree
