Conflict Resolution Style
From a very young age I have been intrigued with the questions of why and how. This curiosity has repeatedly exposed me to new experiences and information both positive and negative. Approaching experiences with this attitude has shaped my conflict management and resolution style because I am interested in the mechanics of the conflict and how the conflict can be understood and resolved. This course has given me the tools to better understand the styles of conflict I have encountered, the methods I have used to help or hurt these situations, and how to better handle future conflicts.

As long as there is an explanation as to why someone or something is wrong, there is an opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding and improve as a person in the area of conflict. I think it benefits me in my personal relationships because when I offend or hurt someone and they express their conflict to me, I am open to the conflict and willing to cooperate to understand or resolve it.I respond to conflict usually my voice or through loyalty. With my close friends and girlfriends I tend to respond by voice and loyalty the majority of the time because I feel comfortable talking about anything with them and do not enjoy having underlying undressed conflict. When the sensation of wanting to exit a conflict arises I need to be able to identify and be aware of that feeling and just know that the feeling will pass, but the conflict will still be there. This persistent neglect will enable the conflict to snowball and make it even more difficult to resolve. My plan of action is to continue to utilize my voice and loyalty responses to address conflict head on and avoid lingering long term conflict, but be more mindful of the tone and language I use to address
