Computer Check Student Essay Analysis
I overheard from the Newark Board of Education that they were going to let the computers check the student's essay. My opponent greatly feels that it is a good idea to let computers check the student's homework. In my understanding, letting computers grade the essay is a bad idea. That is because not all computers are able to read the student's handwriting. Another reason is because so computers can make mistakes. Also, do to the fact that not everyone is able to afford computers for laptops. This is reasons why computers shouldn't be allowed to grade students essays.

However, some students are not able to type their papers on the computer and send it to their teacher in order to get their graded. Some people might say to go to the library.

Nevertheless, everyone makes mistakes. Even computers and smartphones. Imagine, if you are typing a paper for your ELA class. Add you went to go print out the essay. After that, you go it the paper from the printer and your name, title, and the last paragraph is not there. Somehow on the computer, you have all those things there. The computer made two mistakes. If you what that to happen to your grade. Then I associated you to let your teacher grade your paper the old-fashion way. With a red pen or marker and the grade book. This is another reason why letting computers grade students is a bad idea.

Also, because not everyone is able to afford a computer or laptop like other students. This fact backs up my first fact about why the computer should not be allowed to grade the student's essays. Most students have to use the computer at school. That is very hard to go. That is either because they don't have computers as an activity. Or the teacher will not let you go the computer room. This is very hard for most students. This is as well another reason why computers should not be allowed to grade students essays.

In conclusion, computers should not be allowed to grade students essays. That is because not all computers are able to read the student's handwriting. Another reason is because so computers can make mistakes. Also, do to the fact that not everyone is able to afford computers for laptops. This is why computers

Did you know that more than half of the world’s students are using tablet computers? To all the students out there who are not lucky enough to even use a computer (at home or at school), I am deeply sorry for you since half of the people that are at the same age as you are surrounded by information, and are improving their knowledge of the world everyday. No worries! After this speech you will have all the rights to go against who ever would not let your school have laptops/computers. "How is it possible to convince my headmaster to let us have computers in school?” A Chinese proverb once said: “Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in a different time.” It clearly states how the minds of the elders and the juniors are so different since they were born in different times or even centuries. Would you rather listen to a person who has a mind to create more possibilities and not stick to the old rules or a person who sticks any same old rules that their elders once told them and rule the school? I bet you most people would choose a person who creates more possibilities than an old man who sticks to the rules and not let the school have technology. I mean, what is the point of a school, which only has books and pencils, and never interact with visual presentations; it would make the students lives in to hell! When they grow up, what job would require them to only write in books and pencils? If your child does not know anything about technology, what can they even be when they grow up? Nothing is my answer to that. You might say an architect, but sadly, they do use computers too, since after they finish the planning and design of the building, they would have to scan it on a computer and send it out to the managers. Our lives depend on technology and computers. Kids in school used to write on paper and read out of books But the fact is, more and more kids in school…

He gave examples such as, “right software”, and “teach neglected topics like art and music”, to show the reader the positive points of the use of having computers in school for students. The beneficial resources for using computers for students, is completing papers for classes and internet usage – compare to instructors, collecting data and make it easier for them to plug in grades. As of the 21st century, technological use has become so readily available to people that it's inevitable. It is a part of society's trends, and has been implemented throughout schools across the nation. For example, schools have adopted the use of calculators, even though there was a upheaval about calculators in the early 1870s, as depicted in the article, "Legalized Cheating" The Wall Street Journal (2006): Print by Ellen Gamerman. Calculators were a very controversial device in the classroom due the fact that it can spit out an answer, leading to the notion that students would be inadequate because they wouldn't be able to think for themselves. Also, when teachers issue a project, for the most part, we have moved away from the tri-folds, poster boards, or foldables. Now, we are using the newer technology like prezi or glogster, to…

Since Roberto Nevilis introduced it to the world as a punishment in 1905, there have been many arguments to whether or not homework should be required. What initially started as punishment for kids who messed around in class has become a mandatory task that all students are required to do daily. I’m here to end that, I intend to show you that students should not be required to complete homework for a grade. Homework consumes too much time and leaves no space for extracurricular activities and causes health problems. On top of that, many students don’t even have the resources required to complete the homework. Despite these things, homework is still a graded assignment that if failed to complete, can drastically bring down a student's grade.…

Computers could easily be known a teacher’s best friend, but if abused and overused, computers can also be harmful to the learning process overall. Today, computers are being used in the learning process in schools. From grade school, kids are being taught to use computers in their day to day academic studies. This is why many students now learn to type before they learn to write in cursive. Gelernter thinks that improper or uncontrolled use of computers may lead to decline in literacy and lack of basic skills. Computers have the ability and potential to accomplish great things. And Gelernter agrees that “Computers should be in the schools.”(186) Using the right software, computers have the power to attain a rewarding learning experience.…

The majority of professors now-a-days have their students electronically turn their papers and essays in. So, instead of the turning in 5 pages of actual paper, college students never actually print their essays, but instead just turn them in through email. The reason teachers do this is because it is much easier to check for plagiarism when they have a digital file. If your teacher makes you upload the paper through blackboard then the paper will automatically be plagiarism checked. Also, I imagine papers are easier to organize and keep track off when turned in digitally.…
