i. Competitive intelligence- proactive rather than reactive; to collect and synthesize information about their position with respect to their rivals…
Competition should be encouraged in society because it allows us to progress and become more productive and efficient individuals. While some may disagree with it, competition will not stop. It is involved in every aspect of society and has helped us achieve things that were never thought possible. Competition motivates us and makes us strive for success. “These qualities have led American Society to greater societal achievements in productivity than found in less competitive societies”…
Today’s world works on the same phenomenon. It is a ruthlessly competitive world with a plethora of insatiable people trying to outrun the person in front of them with whatever it takes. Today, as Vince Lombardi said “Winning isn’t everything, it’s the only thing.”…
Is it more important to be highly competent or highly competitive in order to be successful? The one and only way to success is being highly competent. The reason why it is more important to be highly competent than highly competitive is simple; you must know information and be well-informed about situations and problems. If you are competitive, that’s fine, but being highly competitive is not being educated. They are two different things. For example, if a highly competitive person goes against a competent person on solving a math equation, most likely the competent person will succeed.…
Differences in ability is the one of the factors in which firms will be willing to pay higher wages to those with greater ability to do a job well based on their talent, intelligence, motivation and perseverance. For example, two advertising managers have equal education and training, but manager A, being more talented and higher natural abilities, can design better advertisement campaigns and attract twice as many high paying clients as can manager B. Hence, firm will be willing to pay manager A twice as much as B.…
Competency, defined by Boyzatis (1982: 21) is known as “the behavioral characteristic of a person which is casually related to effective or superior performance in a job” Competencies act as a signal from the organisation which indicate to an individual behaviours and actions that will be valued, recognised and in some organisations rewarded.…
Competition and competence, to extremely similar words, yet two entirely different connotations. In my perspective competence is substantial to be successful. If you don't have competence in life, you have and are nothing. Since the very beginning people have been based on strength, speed and agility. However, that didn't initially entitle that they were the most effective. Generation after generation of repetition and misconception proves that no one person is better than everyone else. Even so, impractical and ineffective means have been about attempting to obtain this unfathomable goal. Competition is also one of the reasons behind disarray. Competition, even friendly competition, has been known to ruin friendships and even lives. Competition has totally altered our way of life and has transformed from something playful to something that adversely engulfs lives.…
Nowadays, competition is everywhere. People always try to compete with each other in order to be ahead of their competitors. There are many forms of competition such as competition between students in the class, competition between co-workers in a company, competition between business people in society, between athletes in sports, and between country and country. Competition is a good thing for everyone because it encourages competitors to work harder. It improves the quality of competitors’ work, and builds more confidence for competitors.…
Gaspar (2005) pointed out that employee in a competition environment is encouraged to work more efficiency in a company. However, Kurland. (1996) said that employees working in high competition environment will do some unethical behaviour for their achievements. Two of these research articles have different opinion, so there is a question which is high competitive whether help a company or it breaks a company down. Therefore, my research topic is “does running high competition system help a company to become successful in long term?”…
Competency is sometimes thought of as being shown in action in a situation and context that might be different the next time a person has to act. In emergencies, competent people may react to a situation following behaviors they have previously found to succeed. To be competent a person would need to be able to interpret the situation in the context and to have a repertoire of possible actions to take and have trained in the possible actions in the repertoire, if this is relevant. Regardless of training, competency would grow through experience and the extent of an individual to learn and adapt.…
According to psychologist Daniel Coleman, a combination of competencies that contribute to a person's ability to manage his or herself and relate to other people-matters twice as much as IQ or technical skills in job success.…

Competitive intelligence essentially means understanding and learning what's happening in the world outside your business so one can be as competitive as possible. It means learning as much as possible—as soon as possible—about one's industry in general, one's competitors, or even one's county's particular zoning rules. In short, it empowers you to anticipate and face challenges head on.…
