The compensated dating is come from Japan since 90’s. The original means the man via some media to contact with the girl who dating with man. However, this dating is related with the money. Typically, it is perceived as an extension of Japan's growing focus on materialism, much of which is what critics claim is the cause of compensated dating.

Girls sell their bodies in exchange for designer goods or money. However, to label compensating dating by the most basic definition of prostitution whereby a person attains money through the exchange of sexual acts excludes an array of other activities.

In South Korea
Compensated dating has also found its way to South Korea, where the South Korean government considers compensated dating a form of prostitution. An annual report by ECPAT International, published in 2004, asserts that 222 girls 18 and younger were arrested for participating in compensated dating in the year 2000

In Taiwan
While having its foundations in Japan, compensated dating began to spread to other East Asian nations in the late 1990s via media. Nowadays, a number of woman believe that it goes without saying for man to pay the check when they go dating, and it’s just as reasonable as the earth encircles around the sun, or the sun will rise from the east every day in women’s mind. In “Who’s Cheap?” Adair Lara’s friend Danny says to her: “As a woman, you are so genetically precious that you deserve attention just because you grace the planet. So, of course, he should buy you drinks. He should also drive the car, open the door, ask you to dance, coax you to bed. And then when you feel properly pampered, you can let out that little whine about how he doesn’t treat you as an equal.” It’s common that at the process of dating, men not only pay the check for common spending, but also follow women and pay for their favors— their individual spending. What’s worse, most of the time, men have to carry a lot of women’s purchases, which is really painful and men have no alternative (In my mind). A lot of women test if men are sincere for them by way of seeing how many times and how much men…

Applyby draws upon interviews of eleven Caucasian-Australian males and uses their experiences to argue that the negative Japanese stereotype of single male foreigners being promiscuous affects masculine identity in both social and professional spheres (16). Appleby firstly argues of a distinction between married and single masculinity, as the interviewees experienced marriage to be associated with maturity and integration into all aspects of Japanese domestic life. Secondly, that this distinction leads to married Western men being better integrated and recognised within the education workplace than single men or women (17). Finally, she argues that these define western singles to be represented as perpetual outsiders and too immature to play a significant role in the Japanese interpersonal and institutional domains (18). What I have gained most from reading this article is an understanding of how stereotyping through the ‘Charisma Man’ model negatively impacted their relationships with the Japanese community, including work and social relationships. This challenges me to think more critically about my experiences with Korean people during my exchange experience and their ideas of stereotyping. I might discuss this further in my reflective essay as it would provide new insight into how…

Nagy states that although Japan initially took pride in its special family structure that was supposed to help maintain stability, a sizeable amount of working women did not wish to get married. Though the most logical answer in regards to the “new women” is that these women avoided marriage to fulfill their “aspiration for independence,” Nagy argues that these women could also have turned economic “necessity into an ideal” in regards to the cost and availability of suitable marriage partners (Nagy 207). Married women on the other hand had a more difficult relationship with employment. Despite achieving a degree of self-fulfillment through working for their family’s income, they struggled to “fulfill work responsibilities without neglecting family life” (Nagy 213). The government’s main form of aid for these women came at the cost of their independence. The efforts focused on making “employment outside the home unnecessary” for women, instead providing jobs to “male household heads” (Nagy 214). Nagy infers from these programs that the government viewed women workers as more of a potential threat to society, than a benefit to the economy. As a result of this odd system that tried to both capitalize on and fix the “working woman problem”, there is an “uneasiness” that persists in the Japanese workforce in the present-day. One possible alternative that…
