In Joy Batchelor’s and John Halas’s award nominated production of Animal Farm its based on a farm revolution to overcome the horrible treatment from humans. It begins when Old Major a devoted, wise pig addresses the idea of freedom. To be free of hard labor and not being a slave to human society while getting nothing in return. He brings light to the ideas of being united as a farm and rid of their drunken farmer Mr. Jones. The revolution begins when they chase off Mr. Jones and they need someone to come up with ideas to help support the farm. It's shown that Napoleon and Snowball take charge after Snowball leaves, this gives Napoleon total freedom to make the rules for the farm. Napoleon enforces the building of the windmill, which

As, for Napoleon, who doesn’t support the building of the windmill only because he believes the increase of food production is much more important. From the text that contributes his disagreement of the windmill, ‘’...then suddenly he lifted his leg, urinated over the plans, and walked out without uttering a word.’’ (50) From this quotation, it shows the type of personality that Napoleon has, the personality of a dictator because without a dictator's approval, nothing senses to them that catches their attention and only see it at as a waste of time that can be used for something else. On animal farm, there are many different kinds of representatives for Animalism in this book, and some may be with the acts of sycophants, socialism, or even persuasive acts to convince the animals on the farm, and running a farm was much more complicated on how the animals would think it would be. With the assistance of Napoleon, dictatorship helped the animals remember the importance of man because with Animalism, it became a communist-strict farm absolute no animal wanted to live for and their future…

In Animal Farm, the plot goes around the victory of Old Major and the overthrow of Mr.Jones leading to the full overtaking of the farm. After this overthrow Snowball and Napoleon are put in charge over the pigs with the motto “all pigs are equal.” However during this leadership Snowball is run off the farm by Napoleon’s taste for power starting a dictatorship. Therefore takes control of all the animals of the farm. Boxer who had thought about what Napoleon had did spoke his mind saying” if comrade Napoleon says it, it must be right.” From there he adopted the saying “Napoleon is always right” this shows how Napoleon has failed to keep the oath he had made to Old Major, and now is running a communist regime. This shows how Napoleons idea of equality had completely diminished creating alliance with the humans.…

<br>Napoleon, the leader, is very authoritative and selfish. Napoleon is a tyrant. It is very likely Napoleon is conspiring to take over Animal Farm so that he can take advantage of the situation of having many animals at his disposal. He is the one that initiated the violation of established resolutions, and concealed it by altering the resolutions. What satisfies his pleasure the most is what takes precedence over everything-the animals, honesty, commandments, etc. He gives himself the credit for every good thing, without any recognition to the other animals, such as the building of the windmill, which he announces the mill will be named Napoleon Mill, and the victory of the windmill. Snowball, who was chased of the farm by Napoleon's personal bodyguards, portrayed by dogs, is being used as a scapegoat, "Whenever anything went wrong, it became usual to attribute it to Snowball." Napoleon, with the help of his dogs, slaughters anyone who is said to be disloyal. ". . .the tale of confessions and executions went on, until there was a pile of corpses lying before Napoleon's feet and the air was heavy with the…

    L. M. Montgomery once stated, “… we pay a price for everything we get or take in this world….” Montgomery means that whatever a person does or gets, there will be consequences. One would agree with this sentiment. Two works of literature that exemplify this quote are Animal Farm by George Orwell and A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.…

Old Major also holds some of the power of the farm, till he dies before the revolution. Old Major was more confident than ever. Old Major, Napoleon, and Snowball sat at the front of the meetings that were held by the farm animals. At these meetings, they also set the seven commandments for the farm. Technically, even though Old Major was the so called ¨leader¨, Napoleon was the leader in reality. He patiently waited for Old Major to die so he could be the ruler. The pigs taught themselves how to read. They built themselves a windmill. They were also the organizers of various committees. They would also ensconced any disputes. They made sure the other animals worked their butts off while Napoleon got fat and changed the commandments just so he would not get in…

The animals, near starvation, labor on another windmill, the first one having collapsed due to poor design. The hens are forced to give up their eggs, and, when they protest, are starved into submission. Napoleon makes Snowball into a figure of fear, claiming that he is sabotaging the farm at night, and Squealer's manipulation of the truth about Snowball through propaganda is a hallmark of totalitarian governments everywhere. At the end of the chapter, the degree to which Animal Farm has degenerated into totalitarian government is made clear, as Napoleon has several animals executed in plain view of the rest as punishment for supposedly treasonous activities. Many of the animals have so internalized the pigs' propaganda that they actually turn themselves in to be brutally killed by Napoleon's dogs. The event has a profound effect on the animals, as seen in Orwell's description of Clover's thoughts, “These scenes of terror and slaughter were not what they had looked forward to on that night when old Major first stirred them to rebellion...Instead...they had come to a time when no one dared speak his mind, when fierce, growling dogs roamed everywhere, and when you had to watch your comrades torn to pieces after confessing to shocking crimes. There was no thought of rebellion or disobedience in her mind. She knew that, even as things were, they were far better off than they had been in the days of Jones, and that before all else it was needful to prevent the return of the human beings...But still, it was not for this that she and all the other animals had hoped and toiled.” At this point, it seems, Animal Farm has become a truly totalitarian society, far from Old Major's vision of equality and prosperity for the animals. Using terror, mind control, and violence, Napoleon has made himself into a dictator as brutal as the…

The book, Animal Farm, by George Orwell, was published in 1945. Throughout the years two movies have been made based off the novel; an animated film in 1954, and an action film in 1999. These two movies have many differences between them. In the 1954, the movie focused on all of the animal’s perspective, while in the other movie the main narrator was Jessie. This is an important because it focuses on Jessie’s opinion and thoughts. In the 1999 movie, Napoleon takes Jessie’s newborn puppies in order to give them “special education”, while in the animated film Napoleon finds abandoned puppies in the Jones’ home and decides to raise them for his own secret police. This difference left a big impact on the movie, because this would be the disposal of Snowball and the deprivation of Jessie. In the 1954 movie, when Snowball proposes the windmill, Napoleon kills him; while in the action movie Snowball is banished from the farm. This difference changes the movies because if Snowball is dead, Napoleon can’t use Snowball as a scapegoat to create fear to the other animals. In the 1999 movie, Napoleon trades with Mr. Pilkington instead of Mr. Whymper. This creates a different group of invades who destroy the windmill. In the 1954 movie, a jealous hostile group of farmers attack the farm injuring and causing death to many animals and the windmill, while in the 1999 movie; the Jones destroyed the windmill due to anger. This difference creates a different way Boxer dies because he was injured in the invasion, while in the 1954 movie he was exterminated. Exclusively, in the 1999 movie, the pigs create propaganda films using Jones’ equipment. The videos showed Napoleon as a leader, at the same time, the films show the deaths of animals that have broken Napoleon’s rules. This shows that in order to be successful, you need to brainwash others to listen to you. The ending of the 1954 movie differs from the…

The takeover of Napoleon initiates with lies, and all of the animals believe that this dishonesty they are told is true. The animals are influenced to believe that "Napoleon is always right," and that there is no one else who could possibly be correct. When Snowball is charged with treachery and malevolence, he is immediately portrayed as the enemy of Animal Farm, just as Napoleon insists. The pigs lie in order to have more food for themselves, which leads to the starvation of the others just like before with Mr. Jones. They selfishly take all of the milk and apples saying that they require them the most, when it's their "comrades" who actually need them. A further example of Napoleon's chain of deceit is what he had done to Boxer. When Boxer had gotten injured while working on the windmill, the pigs told the other animals that he would be all right and that they had called a veterinarian, but instead, they called a slaughter house.…

Snowball’s goals for the farm are to give the inhabitants a higher quality of living, and thus, prompts him to be an outstanding and charismatic leader. Snowball passionately drives the idea of creating a windmill with a dynamo “which would do [the animal’s] work for them while they grazed at their ease in the fields or improved their minds with reading and conversation.” (Orwell 32) Instead of creating a means of production that would increase wealth and generate an issue with conspicuous consumption, it is shown that Snowball intends to use this means of production to establish a more prosperous future in addition to raising standards of living for the animals. Furthermore, Snowball surpasses Napoleon as a leader because of Napoleon’s true motive being his greed for material wealth. When the windmill is built, “the luxuries of which Snowball [teaches] to dream… [are] no longer talked about. Napoleon [denounces] such ideas… the farm [grows] richer without making the animals themselves any richer- except, of course, for the pigs and dogs.” (Orwell 86) Instead of using the windmill to increase the farm’s prosperity and its material circumstances, Napoleon shows little to no regard for all the animals and uses the means of production to once again, divide the farm into the proletariat and bourgeoisie, leading…

“Do not imagine, comrades, that leadership is a pleasure. On the contrary, it is a deep and heavy responsibility. No one believes more firmly than Comrade Napoleon that all animals are equal. He would be only too happy to let you make decisions for yourselves. But sometime you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, then where should we be?”(Orwell,59). Animal Farm is an allegorical novel, “Animal Farm symbolizes the Russian Revolution which took place in 1917 during World War I. The idea of rebellion is planted by Old Major, who is at the end of his life; he has a vision of a farm owned by Animals, who work together for the common good. His ideas are taken and expanded by the pigs, led by Snowball and Napoleon; Snowball is an idealist, while Napoleon seeks personal power. When Jones forgets to feed the animals, they rebel and drive all the humans off the farm, and believe themselves to be on the verge of a better future. The animals change the name of the farm from Manor Farm to Animal Farm, but this change is not accepted by the public until the Battle of the Cowshed, where the animals prove that they are capable of defending their property. After that, although the humans make a few attempts to discourage the farm's success, the farm moves from its equalitybased Utopian ideals to a slave plantation under the rule of Napoleon, and the rebellion is allbut forgotten, with only the memories, many invented by Squealer and Napoleon's glorious victory over humanity to remember the rebellion by. The rebellion is composed of three distinct stages: the secret meeting at the barn, the ostracization of farmer Jones, and the battle of the barn. Through each of these stages, the rebellion develops, and "officially" ends when Napoleon says that the rebellion is over. In the last stage of the rebellion, Jones attempts to exact his revenge and retake his farm. Jones brings guns and men, but fails to…
