Comparing Bilbo And The Dwarves In 'The Hobbit'
There are many unknown places out in the world and, one day we all come across them. In the book, The Hobbit, Bilbo and the dwarves get blown away by a new place Rivendell and they have different reactions about it, they meet a new character Elrond and feels great about their adventure, tells them how he feels about their love of gold and the wickedness of the dragons, and the elves tell them what values are important to them. Bilbo and the dwarves react to Rivendell in different ways. For instance, in the book ,The Hobbit, it states that Bilbo at first is very down, tired, and grumpy but when he finally gets there he is very excited. He is very excited because he sees a lot of elves there and Bilbo really likes elves. While the dwarves at first feel ready for this adventure, they seem to feel very uncomfortable when they see elves. They dislike elves because the elves make fun of the their long beards. Elrond is also giving them a place to stay for at least fourteen days to help them recover. And Elrond told them,”A wish that is likely to be granted soon enough in the mountains. But show me your map!”. Meaning that he wants to help them by showing tem the way to go. Knowing this, Elrond want to help them go on the expedition because he is helping them out with food, recovery, and he tells them which way to go. Elrond talks to them about their love of gold and the wickedness of dragons.
