Tommy Wozny North America (1450-1700 A.D.) and Latin America (1450-1700 A.D.) have many similarities, yet differences as well. One of the main differences between the two is their government system. In Latin America, the government used an Ecomienda system, and a Mit’a system, while in North America, they were more independent, and used viceroyalties. Another difference between the two was the labor system. In Latin America, there were slave labor systems that developed, causing the slaves to work more hours. While in North America, they already had a slave labor system, as well as indentured servants. One of the similarities between the two is how their social classes were quite similar. They both were hierarchical within the colonies. The government systems between the Latin Americans and the North Americans were very different. One of the biggest contributing factors to why these two had different labor systems is their ways of slave labor. In Latin America, there weren’t a lot of interracial marriages. This is because the African slaves, and the Native American slaves were had much longer working hours. However, in North America, the labor systems that developed were slavery and indentured servitude. The slaves in North America didn’t have to work as much as the slaves in Latin America. Also, interracial marriage did go on in North America. Interracial marriage was bigger in North America than it was in Latin America because the slaves didn’t have to work as much, so they had time to be married.
