Compare And Contrast Aca Biggie Smalls And Lameont Coleman
Christopher Wallace, AKA Biggie Smalls, and Lamont Coleman, AKA Big L, were both famous rappers in the late 90s and early 2000s, until they were both tragically gunned down in a drive-by shooting. Not only had both of these rappers come to the same end, but they had both predicted their own deaths in their albums.
Biggie Smalls, as he liked to be called around his neighborhood, was an aspiring rapper who was picked up after his mixtape got into the hands of a famous DJ at the time. As his rise to fame became more visible, Smalls’ paranoia became larger. He had said in an interview with the New York Times that he was always so scared that someone was going to come in his apartment and kill him. The paranoia grew from fear to anger.

W.E.B. DuBois and Booker T.Washington were both influential men during the Civil Rights movement. Even though they were both extremely influential, they both had contrasting points of views on which actions to take when it comes to racial equality. Booker T. Washington believed social equality would happen over time when the African Americans became economically well built and powerful. W.E.B. DuBois thought that political and social equality was necessary, so he came up with the movements such as the Niagara movement to push for equality. DuBois and Washington were both African American leaders who wanted there to be racial equality among everyone. Washington was the type of man that believed that the African Americans had to work hard and…

Sean Combs also known as Puff Daddy is one of the most influential music composers/ producers in hip hop today. He has overcome poverty after growing up on the hard streets of Harlem New York to become one of the biggest names of today’s celebrities. Of course he didn’t attain this goal without a lot of hard work in producing number 1 hits with artists such as Mary J. Blige and the Notorious BIG. Diddy has come a long way in his life and now is very successful in the music, television, and fashion industries. He is the true epitome of an entrepreneur, and as he would say, “ Don’t chase the money, chase the dream” (Puff). P Diddy is responsible for more classic hip hop records than most artists, mc’s, or producers to date (Ronin).…

Biggie Smalls was a compelling rapper until the day of March 9, 1997 when he was killed by a drive by shooting. They have numerous associates and hypotheses with why he was squandered that day, notwithstanding; they are not totally beyond any doubt who did this and why. He was being driven back to his inn from a music industry party. As his auto pulled up to a stoplight, somebody shouted to him, he brought down his window and somebody pointed a gun at him, discharged four shots into his midsection and headed out.…

1.For Wes 1 my thought is that his life took a turn for success while he was at the military school. When his mother told him he had to stay at the school, Wes wasn't happy but, he had no choice. Shortly thereafter, Wes met Ty Hill. Ty influenced Wes like no one else had ever inspired him. And I believe that this meeting of the two helped Wes in a way that nothing else to this point had. He wanted to have the same kind of respect by others that Ty Hill had. I think for Wes 2 his turning point was when he saw and realized what the drugs were doing to Cheryl. He loved her and I think he believed if he could change, then he could help her do the same. His mind and heart were in the right place while he was being trained. Once he graduated…

“If you want something in this life, reach out and grab it.” This was a quotation by Chris McCandless, the main character of the book, Into the Wild. Chris McCandless always followed his dreams and desires; similarly to Timothy Treadwell, the man whose journey in Alaska was documented in the movie The Grizzly Man. After reading about Chris McCandlessand watching the documentary of Timothy Treadwell, it was obvious to notice that these two ambitious and passionate men shared many similarities and differences.…

Tupac had sold over 75 million records worldwide as of 2010, making him one of the best selling music artists in the world. Rolling Stone Magazine named him the 86th Greatest Artist of All Time. Tupac was different from Biggie with music because of how he talked about racism, social problems, and hardship in inner cities violence. Before he became a well know rap artist he was roadie, backup dancer, and MC for the hip-hop group Digital Underground. Another difference was Tupac’s music career really began once he made his first solo album “2Pacalypse now” after that album and many more he then came out with his own rap group called “Thug Life”. Once the group released their only album “Thug Life: Volume 1” Tupac later got introduce to Suge Knight, who then played a big role into Tupac music…

One example that portrays this, was his long lasting friendship with Christopher Smalls aka Biggie Smalls. Tupac was associated with the West Coast, whereas Biggie Smalls was associated with the East Coast. They were on good terms, until Tupac got shot five times in a Manhattan Recording Studio. He suspected Biggie Smalls and Sean Combs aka Puff Daddy were behind the shooting. Sean Combs was the head of Bad Boy Records which was the label Biggie Smalls signed with. As soon as Tupac got shot, he signed with Death Row Records a west coast label. The head of Death Row Records known as Suge Knight had a grudge against Sean Combs, which turned into “dangerous vendetta between the east and west coast factions, stoked by lyrical provocations from Biggie and Tupac”. Two years later after Tupac died, Biggie also died and these deaths could have been caused and connected by the feud, for Biggie Smalls death being an act of revenge for Tupac’s…

I had watched a documentary, based off of the infamous rappers and their start up in the music industry, titled Tupac and Biggie where I got information on both sides. To begin with both rappers had similar upbringing for instance, were born in the state of New York, Tupac in Harlem and Biggie in Brooklyn. However, Tupac did move around growing up to Baltimore, Maryland in 1984 and finally to Oakland, California in 1988 by the age of 17. Biggie had more of an interesting beginning, unlike his soon to be rival, he had been raised by a single mother who was a teacher and had lived in a 3 bedroom apartment, not how he claimed on his song ‘Juice’ as a “one-room shack”. Meanwhile, Tupac was also raised by a single mother, however had been a part of the anti-government group the Black Panther Party, which would later be a foundation to his rap verses on political stans. Like most rappers they both would have a rough upbringing, and Biggie would start drug dealing at the age of 14 to help support his family, till discovered musically. Interestingly enough, Tupac had an interest in acting and attended performing art schools and create his passion for poetry, turned later to rap rhymes. Tupac was the…

I would like to thank my entire group members and Professor Donaldson whose comments and suggestions had been very helpful to improve the quality of this final paper. I have tried for the best of my ability to incorporate in this final version, all their great ideas about the format and the content of the documents. Professor Donaldson suggested “I am going to suggest that you do a little reorganizing. First of all, you should get rid of all of the headings. (Yes, all of them.) Then you should move the biography blurbs to the beginning of each discussion of each respective author.” This idea abstracts Joseph’s and Kandice’s. Following these directions, I have removed all the headings, and the biography blurbs. I also have quoted from the required textbook, and mentioned related page numbers in parentheses. Kandice wanted “I would organize the paper in a different way and also try and tie the writers and speakers background more into their writings”. Copy and Past were the best tools to satisfy that other nice suggestion.…

Matt Fowler and Abner Snopes are both male characters that possess a motivation for revenge. Some people can only feel better about an unfortunate situation or circumstance by seeking revenge. Such a person would believe that until the other party feels the same pain as they have, only then would justice have been served. We live amongst a society where acts of revenge are quite common and most perceive them to be of a "natural human emotion." People feel different emotions and think different thoughts on a daily basis and throughout life as we grow and change. Things do not always work out in our favor or the way we have planned for them to. While both men are in two completely different circumstances; the motivation for revenge is mutual.…

Minny Jackson from The Help and Eleanor Douglass from Eleanor & Park are very different from each other. Minny is the “sassy” maid who has gotten in trouble many times for her fast remarks. Minny is not afraid to speak her mind when she feels threatened, and will protect her friends and kids no matter what. Eleanor is the awkward new girl at school who is a little chubbier than her peers. She stands out with her pale skin tone and bright red curly hair. Minny Jackson, from The Help, and Eleanor Douglass, from Eleanor & Park may be different, but do share some similarities.…
