Comparative Advantage
My comparative advantage in the labor market is as a Senior Administrative Assistant. The understanding of the duties of a Senior Administrative Assistant is often misunderstood to be a non-specialized occupation that doesn’t require any expertise. Presently, the administrative assistant job market is changing drastically due to employment trends which require a broadening and expanding of the functions and obligations of an administrative assistant. “Because of new technology, the administrative assistant job is changing into a position that requires multi-skilled roles such as online sales and marketing, website development and management, online customer service and other online jobs.” (Ramjee, 2017) Common Sense Economics states that “Your comparative advantage is determined by your relative abilities, not your absolute abilities.” (Gwartney, Stroup, Lee, Ferrarini & Calhoun, 2010. The Bible declares in Colossians that “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.
