Divinity of Christ
Name: Kgaogelo Naum
Surname: Shai
Course: Doctrine and Theology: The Teachings of Jesus
Student Number: LDI 2013/00021
Assignment 1: The Divinity of Jesus Christ
Due date: 11 March 2013

Introduction
As ambassadors of Christ we live a life empowered by faith, motivated by the promises that God has bestowed upon our lives. However in this life there always seem to be things that we are facing, battles to fight and challenges to overcome. John 10:10(NIV)…”I have come that you may have life and have it to the full”, fills us with the confidence that Christ came to restore our lives and to give us “authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will harm you” (Luke 10:19).
The birth of Jesus Christ was prophesied in the Old Testament (Isaiah 7:14), that Jesus Christ would be God, and in the New Testament Matthew (1:22-23) interprets this prophecy 'The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel '- which means "God with us” Matthew (1:22-23).
Just like the birth of covenant that God made with the patriarchs and the nations of Israel, the birth of Jesus Christ is a great affirmation that Gods word does not go out in vain, Isaiah 55:11 (NIV) “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it”.
Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus teaches us that we have a great responsibility as Christian that “as prisoners for the Lord, then we are urged to live a life worthy of the calling we have received, Ephesians 4:1 (NIV)”. Although we can never earn our salvation it does come with responsibilities. We have a calling to live up to as Christians. What we do or don’t do is a reflection on Jesus, either good or bad.
It is a high privilege to be saved by grace. In order for us Christians to thrive in this world and exercise our authority we need to know how to live, how to

Within this paper I will be reflecting over the first part of Theology 104. This class has addressed many topics that have given me a better understanding on Christianity, the Bible and most importantly Jesus Christ. I will be addressing two topics that I feel are very important to Christianity the first topic being the Importance of Personal Testimony and the second topic covering the Importance of Maintaining a Christian Lifestyle. Both of those topics I think help lay a foundation for an individual’s walk with Christ.…

“Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.” Isaiah 45:22 (NKJV). I heard the question asked last night. “What rewards your life?” The answer was; to deeply appreciate those, who love you by loving them back. That’s what life is all about. You can ruin your life by desensitizing yourself. We are all afraid to say too much, feel too deeply, to let people know just how much they mean to us. But not God, in fact, we find in this verse how much He loves us. Many of us have a mental picture of what a Christian should be. Yet many of us don’t make ourselves vulnerable enough to fully narrow all our interests until our mind, heart, and body are completely focused and looking at…

With regards to salvation, it is important to know its importance. According to the Gospel, due to salvation, we are saved from the wrath (judgement) of God. The wrath was imposed upon us, due to the Fall of Man. Of course, this fall directly stemmed from the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Due to their…

In Daniel B. Wallace’s article “The Resurrection of Christ: Theological Implications,” key points regarding the significance of the resurrection of Jesus are discussed and reviewed through the lens of Christology. Christology can be defined as the academic study of the person and work of Jesus of Nazareth, whom Christians avow is the Son of God and the second member of the Holy Trinity. At the time of this article’s writing, Wallace was a professor at Dallas Theological Seminary from which he had also received his Ph.D. A recognized expert in Greek and the study and application of “textual criticism,” Dr. Wallace is also the senior New Testament editor of the NET Bible and coeditor of the NET-Nestle Greek-English diglot. While also being a published author, he currently blogs (http://danielbwallace.com) and continues to teach at Dallas Theological Seminary.…

Matthew writes his gospel from a Jewish standpoint. He is careful to connect Jesus as the legitimate heir to the royal house of David in order to establish Jesus ' Hebrew roots. Matthew often refers to Hebrew scripture to show Jesus as the fulfillment of the scriptures. He says that Jesus is God present with us. Jesus is portrayed as the new lawgiver in this gospel. He is a teacher who concentrates on the overall being of a person, meaning their actions as well as their thoughts. Matthew stresses that it is just as bad to think impurely as it is to act impure. Jesus has come…
