Community Based Learning
What, in your view, are the pros and cons of requiring community-based learning courses?
In my view there are many pros and cons of the requirement of a community based learning course. A pro is that it makes the student more well rounded and prepared for the when they graduate and engage with their communities on their own. Another pro is that it facilitates many feelings for students that they may not know that they could become in contact with prior to the course such as empathy. The cons of a community based learning course is that the student is may not be in the course voluntarily, and they may not be getting the full benefits of working with their community as a student that would sign up to do service learning on their own.
