TDA 3.1 Communication and professional relationship with children, young people and adults.

This pack has been produced to help people in a support role, raise awareness of the importance of effective communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults who are working in an educational environment. The pack will be separated into three key areas,

1. Understanding the principles of developing positive relationships with children, young people and adults.

2. Understanding how to communicate with children, young people and adults.

3. Understanding legislation, policies and procedures for confidentiality and sharing information, including data protection.

Having positive relationships with the people we interact with makes our daily lives easier and more productive. In an educational environment maintaining positive relationships opens up opportunity for good communication, it gives us confidence in our ability and an understanding of our environment.
Accepting shared responsibility by knowing what our role is and what’s expected of us is very important, following recognised procedure and understanding shared values all promote good relationships.
