    One of the memorable leaders was John Paul Jones. He was the biggest war hero in the Revolutionary War. He went to Philadelphia and was put in as a senior lieutenant in the Continental Navy. His leadership with his naval fleet gave the growing service of the navy a reputation of bravery. He was also the leader of the most famous naval engagement in United States history. The next leader is Douglas MacArthur, who graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in g 1903. He was the leader of the 42nd Division in World War I and general for troops in the Pacific during World War II. In the Second World War he returned to the Philippines in 1944 after Japan took it over. Then in the Korean War he led the United Nations, until him and President Truman disagreed on a war policy and was removed from command. A troop under MacArthur during World War II in the Pacific was John F. Kennedy, who became president in the election of 1960. He gained his title of a hero when his boat was attacked by a Japanese destroyer. Although many of his crew members were greatly injured, he was able to push them through a three mile swim to the closest island. After this he received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal, as well as the Purple Heart for the injuries he received in the attack. The final naval war hero is George H.W. Bush, who enlisted to be a naval aviator once he turned…
