What if you were not raised up with your parents or you had to pick up everything and move to a different country that’s how my dads life started. My dad, was born on June 18, 1968 in Pakistan. He had many accomplishments, and tragedies during a young age, but I am here to only talk about the important ones. My dad has not only been father, but also my mentor and my best friend.

My dad grew up with his grandmother for the first 11 years of his life. You guys are probably wondering why… It wasn’t because his parents died, or they didn’t like him. When he was born his grandmother wanted their first grand child to live with her. His parents did see him on the weekends still, but his grandmother was the biggest mother figure in his life until 10. At 10 he moved to his parents house. That same year they decided to move to the United States of America, that is where his whole life changed. He was know longer in a small city where everyone knew each other. His parents had started a limo company in Dallas when they moved. He had to make all new friends. The hardest part for him was learning to speak English and just picking everything up and moving, but in the long run it paid off. Over the years my dad has taught me that it is our responsibility to help the less fortunate. Every year my dad donates millions of dollars to the less fortunate. This has taught me that if god has gave you a good life maybe you should help other people also. For example, one time it was in the middle of the night at I was with my dad and someone’s car had broken down on the highway he got out and helped the family change their tire.

He graduated from the University of North Texas getting a business degree. His family had high expatiations of him because everyone before him had graduated from college. When my dad finished college his parents gave them their limo company from a small company know it is the biggest limo company in Texas. His family had put all their

The memorable quote "All gave some...Some gave all" really describes the emotion all of us as Americans should have towards our flag. Memorial Day is a tribute to those who died for our country. We use our flag to honor them by decorating their graves. If that doesn't show the honor that comes along with our flag, nothing…

A few months ago, thanks to the vivacious Tammy Gillis, the accomplished actor Jim Thorburn was brought to my attention (they are married, in case you were unaware). While his name was somewhat unknown to me, his talent and works included some of my classic and current favorites. As I have been faithfully following his career all this time now, I was ecstatic to promote his upcoming film, Engaging Father Christmas, and he was kind enough to chat with me briefly about his role in this upcoming film as well as a few other notweworthy details. RH: So nice to get to chat with you again.…

As a child I have always wanted to help other people. When I was 8 my parents decided to separate. At the time, my mother decided to move my sister and I away from Chicago. My mother packed our luggage and decided to move us to Detroit. That wasnt the only time we moved, we moved four times while I was growing up, all over the country and even to another continent. Eventually we had to leave our mom in Nigeria and my sister and I went to Detroit. When we got to Detroit my aunt didn't hesitate to make us feel comfortable. It was just something about it,I still didn't feel right. I called my mother one day crying to her and explaining how we didn't like being there. After talking to her, I felt that it was time to go back to Chicago. I called my dad, (knowing I haven’t spoke/seen him for many years) and explained to him the situation on how we felt uncomfortable in Detroit.…

First, Paul’s actions agreed with his beliefs. He knew from the very beginning what he was called to do, which was to tell others about his Lord. Even while he was still in Damascus, some people conspired to take his life, but he found out about their plans and safely escaped (Acts 9:23-25). He truly had become what he had hated so much before. And thus began Paul’s life as a follower of Jesus. I can respect a man whose life and beliefs agree with each other. I can respect Paul.…

I was born in the suburbs of the Bronx and raised in the Brooklyn, New York. At a young age, I never understood the amount of hard work my parents had gone through to raise me and give me a great life I have today. They emigrated from South Korea to this country in hopes of the American dream. They had their definition of the American dream as working hard to become successful. They were strong believers in that hard work would result in great results and rewards. My parents took huge sacrifices in order to make it to this great nation. They had left their families, their jobs, and their culture to start a new life. My father went from being a chemical engineer to making a small living as a delivery man for a clothing company while my mother worked as nurse in a small clinic in downtown Brooklyn. We didn’t live in the best of neighborhoods, but it was sufficient enough to provide shelter and food. It took a lot of pain and long hours for my parents to provide for me and they have taught me the most crucial life lessons. They told me that the most important lesson is life is to always put other people before you. They explained how if you are always there to help others and be there for another person, they will return the favor to you. This helped shaped my identity as to be a caring person who is always willing to help out those in need. Throughout the rest of my life, I would encounter this life lessons…

I had a long discussion with my dad today about religion, but I also got a touch of his childhood. As the discussion progressed, I came to the realization that I know nearly nothing about my father my whole life. This was one of the first times he actually spoke to me about his past in any sort of detail at all my whole life. The only thing he would tell me as I grew up was that his father passed away when my dad was nine and that his father was an honest man. I still have much, much more to learn about my dad's past, but the things he told me have made me so grateful to be born in America and to have such high hopes for a brighter future.…

We've gathered here today to commemorate, the egress of one class and ushering in of another to these hallowed halls of Grosse Pointe North High School via a graduation ceremony. However, it is more applicably a death, than a graduation. Please, lend me your ears, so as to stiffen the morbid conjecture that is immersing itself within your minds at this very moment. For you see, in the days of yore, when Norsemen still roamed this earth, they believed irrevocably in the notion of death as the ultimate triumph of an assailed human body and spirit; not as a catalyst of immense dread and anxiety. Yet, many of the individuals present on this field would indubitably remonstrate this ideology…
